AI Engineer

We're looking for a hands-on AI Engineer to build and improve real-world AI applications powered by LLMs, RAG, document intelligence, and APIs.

Responsibilities:

• Build and enhance backend features using Python, FastAPI or Flask.
• Develop and improve RAG and retrieval pipelines using external systems and APIs.
• Work with LLM APIs such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, and Google Gemini.
• Design prompts and structured AI-generated outputs with source citations.
• Process PDF and Word documents using document-processing and OCR tools.
• Integrate public opportunity databases, email systems, cloud storage, and third-party APIs.
• Extract, normalise, match, and score information using AI and rule-based workflows.
• Support live product pilots, testing, quality improvements, and deployment.
• Write clean, maintainable code and collaborate closely with a small product team.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong Python skills with FastAPI or Flask and REST APIs.
• Real-world experience building applications using LLM APIs.
• Hands-on experience with RAG/retrieval workflows.
• Experience working with real-world PDF and Word documents.
• Experience with APIs, JSON, webhooks, and third-party integrations.
• Active GitHub profile with projects you can explain in detail.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and ownership skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment.
