Automation Quality Engineer

As an Automation Quality Engineer, you will design, develop, and execute comprehensive testing strategies to ensure software quality and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, implement automated test scripts, and drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies. This role is based in Pune and operates in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Create and execute automated test scripts using modern frameworks to facilitate early defect detection.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria.
• Perform root cause analysis for identified defects and work closely with developers to support resolution.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and contribute to technical communities to foster excellence.
• Take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls within your area of responsibility.
• Guide and support team members while coordinating resources to achieve project objectives.

Requirements

• 4-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance with hands-on testing across web and API applications.
• Proven expertise in UI automation using Selenium and/or Playwright, preferably in a BDD style.
• Strong API testing and automation experience, specifically with Karate API automation.
• Experience with CI/CD integration and automated test execution through Jenkins pipelines.
• Solid understanding of test design techniques, defect lifecycles, and quality engineering best practices.
• Experience working within Agile/DevOps delivery models.
• Ability to leverage AI-assisted testing tools to improve automation efficiency and test coverage.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
