Junior Risk & Delivery Analyst

About the Role

This is a deliberate growth role - one that Synapse Analytics is building from the ground up to develop a specialist at the intersection of client delivery, risk policy, and AI-powered financial analysis. As a Junior Risk & Delivery Analyst, you will sit within the Delivery & Success team and work directly under the Senior Risk Analysis SME, gaining structured, hands-on exposure to both project delivery and the analytical world of banking credit and risk policy.

On one side of this role, you will learn to translate client credit and risk policies into structured configurations within Konan - Synapse's proprietary AI decision-making platform - building the technical fluency to turn a bank's underwriting logic into a working, testable implementation. On the other side, you will support the delivery and coordination work that keeps client engagements running smoothly: organising workstreams, tracking progress, preparing materials, and keeping internal and client stakeholders aligned.

Over time, you will grow into someone who can sit in a client workshop, understand a risk policy discussion, translate it into a Konan implementation, and communicate the implications back to both technical and business audiences. We are not hiring for what you know today - we are hiring for your ability to learn, think critically, and grow into a rare hybrid profile that does not exist off the shelf.

What You Will Do

Konan Policy Configuration & Implementation

• Learn Konan's platform architecture, decision engine logic, and configuration framework under the direct guidance of the Senior Risk Analysis SME.
• Translate client credit and risk policies - including scorecards, decision trees, eligibility rules, and workflow logic - into structured Konan configurations.
• Work closely with the SME to validate that implemented policies accurately reflect client intent and perform as expected under test scenarios.
• Maintain clear, version-controlled documentation of all policy configurations, changes, and rationale for each client implementation.
• Participate in client policy workshops and implementation reviews, progressively taking on more active roles as your Konan fluency develops.

Risk & Banking Domain Learning

• Develop a working understanding of credit risk fundamentals, risk policy frameworks, and the role of decision engines in banking and lending operations - guided by the Senior Risk Analysis SME.
• Study client policy documents, underwriting guidelines, and risk frameworks to build the contextual knowledge needed to implement them accurately in Konan.
• Support the SME in preparing analytical inputs, client-facing insights, and consultation materials derived from Konan's outputs.
• Gradually contribute to risk consultation discussions with clients, building the confidence and knowledge to participate as a credible voice over time.

Delivery Support & Project Coordination

• Support the delivery of client engagements by maintaining project trackers, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, managing action item logs, and coordinating follow-ups across internal teams.
• Help keep multiple concurrent client workstreams organised and on track, flagging risks or delays to the relevant PM or SME promptly.
• Prepare structured client-facing materials including status updates, implementation summaries, and configuration documentation.
• Coordinate logistics for client calls and working sessions, ensuring the right people, materials, and context are in place ahead of every engagement.

Internal Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with Project Managers, Forward Deployed Engineers, and the Senior Risk SME to ensure Konan implementations are aligned with both client expectations and Synapse's technical delivery standards.
• Communicate clearly and consistently across internal teams - translating between the risk/policy world and the delivery/technical world as your cross-functional understanding deepens.
• Document learnings, reusable configuration patterns, and process improvements as you grow in the role, contributing to Synapse's internal knowledge base.

We are looking for raw ingredients: intellectual curiosity, structured thinking, genuine enthusiasm for learning, and the discipline to grow into a role that is still being defined. The right candidate does not need to know what a scorecard is on day one - they need to be the kind of person who, once shown, will not stop until they understand it completely.

Background & Experience

• 0-2 years of professional experience in a structured, analytical, or client-facing role - this could include internships, graduate programmes, or early-career positions in consulting, banking, finance, technology delivery, or data analysis.
• A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative or analytical discipline is preferred, but we care more about how you think than what you studied.
• Any prior exposure to banking, lending, credit, or risk - even academic or through internships - is a meaningful advantage.

Critical Thinking & Analytical Ability

• Demonstrably strong analytical and logical thinking skills - comfortable breaking down complex documents, rules, or processes into structured, implementable components.
• Ability to read a dense policy or rule-based document and extract its underlying logic accurately and completely.
• Attention to detail that borders on obsessive - policy implementation errors have real downstream consequences, and this role demands precision.
• A natural problem-solver who asks good questions, checks their own assumptions, and does not stop at a surface-level understanding.

Organisation & Work Ethic

• Highly organised and self-disciplined; able to manage multiple tasks, track their own progress, and meet commitments without constant supervision.
• Eager to learn and comfortable with ambiguity - this role will evolve as you grow, and the right person should find that exciting rather than unsettling.
• Takes initiative: identifies what needs to be done and does it, rather than waiting to be told.

Communication Skills

• Full professional fluency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken) - mandatory.
• Clear, concise written communication; able to produce well-structured notes, summaries, and documentation.
• Comfortable in client-facing settings - not necessarily as the lead, but present, engaged, and articulate.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with decision engine concepts, rule-based systems, or business process logic - even from academic projects or personal curiosity.
• Prior experience using project management or collaboration tools (Notion, Jira, Asana, or similar).
• Exposure to data analysis tools such as Excel (advanced), SQL, or Python - not required, but a strong signal of analytical inclination.
• Interest in AI and its applications in financial services.
