Synapticon builds integrated servo drives and motion control electronics for robots using a software-first approach and is known for functional safety in robotics. Its SOMANET modules combine drive, communication and safety functions and serve humanoid robots, cobots and physical AI, and it hires firmware, functional safety and robot software integration engineers. The company is headquartered in Schönaich near Böblingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Synapticon builds the motion control and actuator technology at the core of next-generation robots and machines. Our SOMANET, Circulo and ACTILINK product lines integrate drives, sensors and control electronics into compact, highly efficient units, deployed in some of the most demanding robotics programmes globally.

As Hardware Developer you will help create our next-generation robotic axis controller. Working closely with our firmware, functional safety and mechanics teams, you will design highly integrated servo electronics from first concept all the way to series production. Your challenge: designing hardware that works hand in hand with the firmware to be highly efficient, performant and economical.

HERE'S WHERE YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Design highly integrated power electronics for our next-generation robotic axis controller
  • Cover the full hardware development lifecycle: concept, schematic design, layout, board bring-up and testing
  • Collaborate closely with firmware, safety and mechanics engineers to optimise the overall system
  • Troubleshoot and validate prototypes in the lab
  • Drive designs from prototype to series production, with a focus on cost and manufacturability
  • Bring your own ideas to the table and push the limits of what our technology can do

WHO YOU ARE

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with mixed-signal designs and a strong understanding of basic electronics - the rest you can learn
  • Solid experience across the hardware development lifecycle, including schematic design, layout, board bring-up and testing
  • Confident with lab equipment and able to troubleshoot prototypes quickly
  • Strong experience with common tools such as Altium Designer and LTspice
  • Experience in EMC fundamentals, analog design, power electronics or manufacturing optimisation is a strong plus
  • Clear communicator - able to discuss ideas with colleagues and make your thinking understood
  • Passionate about technology and design creativity, with the drive to learn and grow quickly and to motivate those around you
  • Fluent in English

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

  • A warm, international team that truly enjoys working together
  • Plenty of creative freedom and the opportunity to make a real impact
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid work options
  • Short decision-making paths, flat hierarchies, and open communication
  • Professional development opportunities and exciting projects
  • 30 days of paid vacation
  • Full-time position (40 hours/week) with a permanent contract
  • Company pension scheme through Dyno
  • Flexible working hours when life takes unexpected turns
  • Company-supported gym memberships through Wellpass
  • Snacks and fresh fruit for all employees, plus breakfast every Monday
  • Free drinks and coffee, of course
  • Regular global team-building events such as bootcamps, ski trips, and summer BBQs
  • Modern office spaces
