Job Title: Instructional Designer 

Department: Training Enablement (SUN) 

Reports To: TrainingManager 

Job Summary  

The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, publishing, and maintaining high-quality learning solutions for internal teams and external customers. Working closely with Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and cross-functional teams, the Instructional Designer transforms complex business and technical concepts into engaging learning experiences that drive product adoption, knowledge retention, and learner success. 

This role owns the end-to-end learning content lifecycle, including instructional design, multimedia development, LMS administration, learner communications, and continuous content improvement. 

  Key Responsibilities  

Learning Needs Analysis & Planning 

• Partner with Product Managers, SMEs, and stakeholders to identify training requirements for new products, features, enhancements, and releases. 

• Define learning objectives, target audiences, training scope, and success criteria. 

• Design learning programs, curriculum, learning journeys, and certification pathways. 

Content & Multimedia Development 

• Design and develop learning assets including eLearning modules, presentations, learner guides, knowledge articles, job aids, assessments, quizzes, videos, and microlearning content. 

• Translate complex business and technical concepts into learner-friendly training materials. 

• Create and edit instructional videos, software demonstrations, and product walkthroughs using Camtasia or similar tools. 

• Develop and integrate voiceovers using ElevenLabsor similar AI-powered tools. 

• Create learner-facing assets such as banners, flyers, infographics, learning catalogs, course thumbnails, and promotional materials using Canva or equivalent design platforms. 

• Ensure all learning content aligns with instructional design, branding, accessibility, and quality standards. 

SME Collaboration & Project Management 

• Collaborate with SMEs to gather technical information, validate content accuracy, and review training materials. 

• Manage content,review cycles and incorporate stakeholder feedback. 

• Coordinate multiple learning projects simultaneously while meeting quality and timeline expectations. 

• Maintain organized documentation, content repositories, and version control practices. 

LMS Administration & Learning Enablement 

• Upload, publish, and maintain training content within the Learning Management System (LMS). 

• Configure and manage courses, learning paths, catalogs, assessments, certifications, and learner assignments. 

• Generate LMS reports and monitor learner engagement, completion, and effectiveness metrics. 

• Maintain learner-facing learning portals and ensure content remains current and accessible. 

Content Maintenance & Continuous Improvement 

• Monitor product releases, enhancements, and feature updates to assess training impacts. 

• Update training content to reflect product changes and maintain accuracy. 

• Analyze learner feedback, engagement metrics, and course performance data. 

• Recommend and implement improvements to enhance learner experience and training effectiveness. 

• Stay current with emerging learning technologies, AI-powered tools, and industry best practices. 

 Required Skills & Qualifications 

Instructional Design 

• Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning needs analysis. 

• Experience designing curriculum, learning paths, assessments, and technical training content. 

Content Development & Multimedia Tools 

• Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word 

• Camtasia 

• Canva 

• ElevenLabsor similar AI voice-generation tools 

• Articulate Storyline / Rise 360 (preferred) 

LMS & Learning Technologies 

• Experience withMoodle,LearnUpon or equivalent LMS platforms 

• LMS content publishing, course configuration, learner management, and reporting 

• SCORM fundamentals 

• Familiarity withVimeo oranyvideo hosting platforms is preferred 

Professional Skills 

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 

• Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills. 

• Ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams. 

• Ability to simplify technical concepts for diverse learners. 

 Preferred Knowledge 

• Product Information Management (PIM) 

• Master Data Management (MDM) 

• SaaS products and customer education programs 

• APIs, system integrations, and related technical concepts 

• AI-assisted content development tools 

• Agile product development environments 

 Education & Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, Technical Communication, Information Technology, Business, or a related field. 

• 2-4 years of experience in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Technical Training, or eLearning Development. 

• Experience creating training for enterprise software products, SaaS platforms, MDM, PIM, ERP, CRM, or related technologies. 

• Instructional Design certification is a plus. 

**This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days per week in office at our Bangalore location**
