We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in DB2, Native Stored Procedures, and COBOL-DB2 development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in developing, enhancing, and supporting business-critical applications in a Mainframe environment. The role involves application development, performance optimization, production support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL and DB2.
- Develop and enhance DB2 Native Stored Procedures for business requirements.
- Analyze functional and technical specifications and provide optimal solutions.
- Write efficient SQL queries and optimize DB2 database performance.
- Perform impact analysis, code reviews, unit testing, and defect resolution.
- Support application modernization and enhancement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and testing teams.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and best practices.
- Participate in release deployments and post-production support activities.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in COBOL-DB2 application development.
- Hands-on expertise in DB2 Native Stored Procedures.
- Good knowledge of JCL, VSAM, and Mainframe Utilities.
- Strong SQL and DB2 database concepts.
- Experience in application debugging and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
