Housekeeper - Full Time

We are seeking a Housekeeper to join our community committed to maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas, such as resident homes, common areas, dining room and other locations in the community. As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in all phases of housekeeping that meets or exceeds our quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

Clean and service apartments baths, and offices; dust furniture and equipment; clean windows, window sills, light globes; empty trash baskets and remove trash; clean and polish bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar items; replenish supplies of soap and paper towels in common areas; clean and polish brass, glass panels, doors, partitions, and paneling; Clean, mop, and treat floors; strip, wax, and buff floors as needed. Vacuum all carpet; shampoo carpet as directed.

Mix/dilute housekeeping chemicals and products according to instructions.

Assist residents with reporting/submitting maintenance work orders.

Keep utility storage rooms in good order by cleaning lockers and equipment, arranging supplies, and sweeping and mopping floor.

Report issues of department equipment when it is not in good working condition in accordance with manufacturer’s operational standards.

Detect and correct, or report, hazardous conditions that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries to residents, associates, or visitors.

Observe and report resident concerns and changes and report to the supervisor or other appropriate personnel as necessary.

Maintain compliance with organizational policies, procedures and requirements. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.

Work successfully as part of a team and responsible for developing then maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers.

Perform all duties in a courteous manner and maintain excellence in customer service including but not limited to cheerfully greeting residents and visitors and exercising respect with co-workers.

Attend and participate in staff meetings and training as required.

Perform general office tasks as required.

 Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

What you’ll bring:

Requires in-depth understanding of all phases of housekeeping operations; prior-related experience preferred.

Requires basic knowledge of commercial or residential cleaning devices, such as brooms, mops, etc., cleaning agents, and sanitation/cleaning requirements.

Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English; ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions given in English.

Requires ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility on a daily basis.

Work deals mostly with objects, equipment, and/or machines at or within arm’s reach.  Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.

Requires ability to maintain confidentiality. 

Requires ability to recognize differences in sound generated by equipment or machinery which may indicate operating problems or safety concerns.

Requires ability to recognize differences in sound, such as voices/noises that are loud and playful instead of angry and combative.

Requires ability to adjust and operate electric-powered cleaning equipment; ability to work with hand tools.

Requires ability to perform tasks with due consideration for residents in vicinity and ability to cooperate and work with other employees.

Requires ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility, using up to75 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds continuously to move objects.

Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time; turns, stoops, kneels, crouches, reaches, and pushes, pulls, handles, stands, walks over 75% of shift.

Requires ability to work under close supervision performing routine, standardized tasks.

Requires sufficient good health to properly discharge duties. Employees shall not be permitted to work who have infectious disease or skin lesion for the duration of the communicability.
