About TakeIn
TakeIn is a food delivery platform on a mission to make food delivery fairer - for customers and for restaurants. We launched in January 2025 in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and are live in production, processing real orders daily. We're hiring across product, engineering, and operations to scale what we've built.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Automation Testing Engineer to build the automation behind Take In's food delivery platform.
You'll own the framework, bring backend and mobile testing into a consistent setup, and turn important customer journeys into a dependable regression suite. Your first major focus will be the customer app, starting with its APIs and building through to the mobile experience.
You'll also work closely with the QA team, sharing what you build and helping other engineers use it. The impact should be visible in every release: less repetitive manual work, earlier feedback, and more confidence in what reaches customers.
Your Day-to-Day
Build and maintain our automation framework across backend APIs and mobile, choosing a structure the team can understand, extend, and maintain.
Automate the customer app's end-to-end journeys, starting with API coverage and connecting it to mobile testing.
Turn manual regression coverage into an automated suite that checks the flows that matter most to customers and the business.
Integrate the suite into CI/CD so the team gets useful feedback as changes move toward release.
Investigate failed tests, distinguish product defects from test problems, and keep the suite reliable as the product changes.
Coach the wider QA team through working sessions, reviews, and practical examples. Make the framework usable by the people who will work with it.
Stay involved in hands-on manual testing where investigation, product understanding, or release risk calls for it.
Use AI tools to speed up framework development and test creation, while checking the quality and maintainability of the result.
What You Bring
Around 4-5 years in QA, with strong hands-on automation experience and ownership of the frameworks or suites you've built.
Practical experience with Playwright using TypeScript, Appium, and Selenium.
Experience testing APIs and mobile applications, and connecting that coverage into meaningful end-to-end checks.
A solid understanding of the test pyramid, Page Object Model, and CI/CD integration.
Experience using AI tools in your automation workflow, with clear examples of what they helped you improve.
ISTQB Foundation certification.
The ability to coach other QA engineers, explain your decisions, and give useful feedback on their work.
Strong written and spoken English for an internationally distributed team.
Bonus
Mobile testing or Agile certifications.
Android testing experience and familiarity with BrowserStack or similar device-testing services.
Experience in food delivery, restaurant technology, or another product where customers depend on reliable transactions.
How We Work
Your team: You'll report to the QA Lead and work with QA, backend, mobile, and DevOps colleagues.
Your setup: This is a remote role based in Egypt, working with teammates in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other locations.
Your ownership: You'll build the automation framework and help the team use it effectively, with the QA Lead owning the wider quality process.
Your contribution: We value engineers who understand the product, raise risks early, and leave the team better able to test and ship.
Notes to Applicants
A few things worth knowing before you apply:
Interviews are conducted in English, and over video - camera on is required. We use an AI notetaker during interviews to help us stay focused on the conversation. You'll be asked for consent before any recording begins. If you need accommodations at any point in the process, let us know in your application.
