Mulesoft Integration Consultant | Hybrid

The role:

We are looking for an Integration Senior Consultant to join our established Integration practice and take the next step up in independent MuleSoft delivery. You will be building increasingly complex APIs and DataWeave transformations with growing independence, owning your own workstream within a project, and starting to mentor junior colleagues, while working closely with the team's Technical Lead and Integration Architects on the most complex architectural decisions.

You will work directly with clients to translate requirements into buildable user stories and RAML specs, contribute to demo delivery and stakeholder updates, and drive quality outcomes across every stage of delivery. Outside of client work you will also contribute to the client’s internal best-practice frameworks and participate in pre-sales work as required. All while you build your career towards becoming a recognised technical authority.

What you’ll do:

Technical Delivery

• Build complex MuleSoft applications and APIs
• Develop DataWeave, including complex transformations (map and lambda functions) and error handling consistent with the agreed design
• Write Low Level Designs for complex applications, with supervision from a Technical Lead or an Integration Architect
• Apply your understanding of Anypoint Platform architecture and deployment models
• Understand three-tier architecture and the shared CloudHub architecture used across the client's projects
• Produce MUnit testing, functional test scenarios and test scripts using tools such as Postman
• Build in error handling, retries, idempotency, monitoring, alerting, logging, and traceability.
• Keep throughput, latency, resilience, and scalability in mind as you build.
• Work with locked-down on-premises systems and network controls such as VPNs, VPCs, firewalls, and load balancers

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Translate functional requirements into buildable user stories, with oversight from the Technical Lead or an Integration Architect
• Work with clients to build data mapping spreadsheets and translate mapping information into RAML specs
• Create process diagrams with oversight
• Contribute to demo and workshop prep
• Be able to tell a clear story around the client problem being solved
• Liaise with client Business Analysts and SMEs to define requirements and acceptance criteria
• Act as the technical point of contact for your workstream when the Technical Lead or Architect are not present

Standards & Practice

• Follow delivery standards on your workstream and help improve them based on your project experience
• Contribute to the client's internal integration methodology, reusable accelerators, and best-practice documentation.
• Support Architects & the sales team during pre-sales activities by scoping integration efforts, producing estimates, and contributing to proposals and client presentations as required.
• Provide guidance and mentor junior team members as they develop their careers
• Take on some responsibility for training and demos to the team, in line with your level of experience

What you have done

Technical Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft (ideally) or adjacent integration platforms. Candidates with strong hands-on experience on comparable platforms such as Boomi, Azure Integration Services, Informatica, Workato, or similar. These are all welcome, provided they can commit to applying and deepening those skills on MuleSoft.
• Delivered multiple end-to-end integration projects in complex, multi-system environments.
• Demonstrated proficiency building multiple simple-to-moderately-complex APIs and RAML specs independently, with support from senior colleagues on more complex work
• A working understanding of functional programming and DataWeave, including complex transformations (map / lambda functions)
• Good understanding of Anypoint Platform architecture, deployment models, and CloudHub / three-tier architecture concepts
• Demonstrated skills using the core Anypoint toolset day-to-day: Design Center, Anypoint Studio, Exchange, Runtime Manager, Postman, API Managers, Git / CI-CD
• Have worked in Agile teams
• Comfortable working within agile delivery tools (Jira, GitLab, Gearset or similar) and taking ownership of your own testing and documentation
• A comfortable understanding of Maven
• MuleSoft Certified Developer (MCD) certification
• Fluent in REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML, and comfortable using Java or scripting where needed.
• Integrated a range of SaaS platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, ServiceNow, HubSpot, SAP SuccessFactors, Marketo, Zendesk, Coupa, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar.
• Applied API security such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, and Anypoint policies.
• Integrated Salesforce using Platform Events, Change Data Capture, Bulk or Streaming APIs, or the Salesforce Connector
• Consulting & Delivery Background
• Consulting background with exposure to varied clients across multiple industries or verticals.
• Experience owning a full workstream within a client project, working independently and feeding into a more senior consultant or tech lead
• Comfortable translating functional requirements into user stories and contributing to requirements-gathering sessions
• Experience building client-facing artefacts such as mapping spreadsheets and simple process diagrams
• Experience contributing to client demos and stakeholder updates

Nice to haves

• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (GCP, Azure and AWS).
• Certifications in (MCD II, MCPA, MCIA)
• Exposure to and interest in adjacent tooling (Talend, or similar ETL / automation platforms)
