Cloud Ops Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
• Build reusable and modular Terraform code using modules, conditional expressions, dynamic blocks, count, and for_each.
• Manage Terraform state securely using remote backends with encryption and state locking.
• Implement input/output validations and ensure Terraform code adheres to security and organisational standards.
• Provision, configure, and manage Microsoft Azure resources, including Virtual Machines, Scale Sets, App Services, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Implement and enforce Azure security best practices using Azure Policy, RBAC, Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), and Azure Key Vault.
• Monitor and optimise cloud infrastructure costs using Azure Cost Management and Budgets.
• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Configure and manage Azure DevOps build/release agents or GitHub self-hosted runners.
• Implement deployment strategies, approval gates, and rollback mechanisms using versioned artefacts and Terraform state management.
• Integrate code quality and security tools such as Checkov, TFLint, and tfsec into CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy, configure, and manage containerised applications on Kubernetes/AKS.
• Manage Kubernetes resources including Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Namespaces, StatefulSets, and DaemonSets.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes cluster and application issues, including pod failures, resource constraints, and deployment-related incidents.
• Package and deploy applications using Helm Charts and manage application versioning and rollbacks.
• Monitor Kubernetes environments using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Kubernetes Dashboard.
• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to ensure secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
• Follow DevOps, cloud governance, and security best practices while maintaining high availability and operational excellence.
• Participate in code reviews, infrastructure optimisation, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
