Job Description:

Provide a broad range of data analysis functions including data modeling, structured query language (SQL) data quality, data profiling, extract-transform-load (ETL), metadata enrichment and management, data provenance and lineage, report design and other specialized data management functions. Works under general guidance of Data Specialists or Managers to design, develop and support data management solutions for the bank.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

  • Provide a broad range of data analysis and assess data management requirements for specific data platforms, applications systems, servers aligned to business or enterprise technology needs
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of data available from upstream sources and data within relevant platform / applications, including through the means of data profiling and data quality reporting tools and via the capture of technical and business metadata
  • Ensure data is maintained in compliance with enterprise data standards, policies and guidelines
  • Collaborate with business and technology partners to elicit information / data requirements and articulate requirements
  • Contribute to data deliverables including contribution to the overall project business requirements and data requirements documents
  • Develop and maintain data models using industry standard modeling tools
  • Implement and support ETL jobs, using the Bank's standard tools
  • Provide support to the development and testing teams to resolve data issues
  • Build and supports reports using a combination of BI tools and SQL
  • Support the user community by helping users interpret the data
  • Provide data governance and data availability support to technology teams and business users and ensure requirements regarding privacy and security of data, data governance and access controls are appropriately captured
  • Assist with the testing of the technical information systems in regards to implementation, upgrades, and/or patches to ensure data integrity and systems functionality

SHAREHOLDER

  • Coordinate with other technology work teams such as, ITS, Architecture, TRMIS etc. to ensure project success
  • Build subject matter knowledge in specific subject areas across multiple lines of business
  • Define, build and manage data dictionary / catalog for respective data platforms, systems / servers / applications
  • Ensure metadata and data lineage is captured and compatible with enterprise metadata and data management tools and processes
  • Runs quality assurance reports and resolves data integrity issues to ensure accurate reporting and data records
  • Gather, review, analyze, profile, validate, and map system data into the data warehouse to meet reporting and analytical business needs
  • Develop solutions and recommendations for improving data integrity issues, analyze data issues and works with development teams for problem resolutions
  • Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data, identify, analyze and interpret trends and patterns in complex datasets
  • Determine and analyze line of business requirements, use system data, and provide input needed by various departments and senior management to produce business reports
  • Understand data initiatives and capabilities, data governance principles and how they apply across the organization
  • Comply with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Hands-On Databricks Expertise: Strong experience building and optimizing pipelines using Databricks, including leveraging Databricks Genie for conversational AI/BI solutions.
  • Fabric & Power BI Administration: Demonstrated experience managing Power BI/Fabric tenant settings, capacities, workspace governance, and security models.
  • Enterprise Enablement: Proven ability to teach, mentor, and simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences across the business.
  • Effective Communication: Exceptional written and verbal soft skills, with a collaborative, learning-focused mindset for cross-functional alignment.
  • CoE Background (Asset): Prior experience working within an Enterprise Data & Analytics/BI Center of Excellence (CoE) preferred.
