DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Risk Management at TD Bank Group (TD) is the bridge between computational analysis and business best practices. Quantitative assessments play a key function within TD; these are actively used for developing, validatingand managing models for risk, pricing, hedging and capital evaluation of the various portfolios and financial products of TD. In other words, it'sall about the numbers.

Our enterprise has seen strong growthin its quantitative departments over recent years, reflecting improvements tocomputational ability, data qualityand volume, along with the banking industry’s increasing attention to understanding and managing model risk. Our department is a global function that partners with all lines of businesses within TD, touching over 1,800 employees in offices across the globe: Canada, United States, the UKand Singapore. We also work externally with regulators and industry groups to align with industry standards, and we benchmark ourselves against best practices.

JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Program

Through executive mentorship, the Risk Management Quantitative Associate Rotational Program is an immersive 24-month program designed to provide qualified and ambitious candidatesthe opportunity to step into our world. You’llreceive comprehensive experience developing, validating, implementingand managing quantitative models throughout the enterprise. The goal of the program is to develop candidates with the necessary experience and tools to become effective leaders within Risk Management.

If you have a sharp mathematical mind with an eye for finance, we want you to be part of our leadership rotational program.

In this program you’llrotate across various quantitative departments within Risk Management areas every six months:

  • Model Development

  • Model Validation

  • Treasury and Balance Sheet Management

  • TD Insurance

  • TD Asset Management

  • TD Economics

  • Internal Audit

We align rotation opportunities with our business strategies to ensure you work on the most important priorities.

What You'll Do

Make an Impact

  • Build mathematical and statistical models for the North American profile of TD, both US and Canada. These models include credit risk (e.g., Probability of Default, Exposure at Default and Loss Given Default), operational risk and market risk models used for risk management, accounting, economic/regulatory capitaland stress testing purposes

  • Assistin the development and testing of new modelling methodologies and effectively challenge these models through benchmark modelling, model validationand/or review within Internal Audit’s model risk division

  • Prepare management summaries describing the mathematical analytics of models, validation techniques, test resultsand model limitations, including recommendations for further improvements

  • Help to manage the areas of risk and solvency assessment (ORSA), expected credit losses, assetand liability management along with liquidity

  • Participate in quantitative and qualitative validation efforts surrounding key processes including Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), stress testing (DFAST / EWST / MST)and regulatory capital

Experience Growth

  • Liaise with other business partners to ensure timelydelivery of new models and resolve modelling issues

  • Demonstrate governance, controland risk management in alignment with TD policies and practices

  • Work on challenging projects alongside experienced leaders in the field

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently when required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Educational Requirements; Must be graduated between May 2025 and May 2027 with a Master’sor PhD in a quantitativediscipline (mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, physics, engineering, or similar).

Program Location and Start Date: Toronto-based program which starts in July 2027. Candidates must have graduated prior to start (including final grades, excluding convocation).
