Global Corporate Services brings together enterprise-wide capabilities spanning client and colleague experience, transformation, enterprise real estate, marketing, Global Corporate Affairs, enterprise AI, and Enterprise 1B to help TD move faster, drive change, engage colleagues, and deliver a more connected and More Human client experience.
Job Description
Enterprise 1B is hiring a Senior Manager, Governance & Control to lead the 1B governance and control relationship for Global Client Experience and Colleague Experience within Global Corporate Services.
Global Client Experience leads the Bank’s enterprise approach to delivering consistent, client-centric experiences by setting strategy and priorities and enabling coordinated execution across TD. The group also owns the enterprise Client Experience (CX) Standard, which establishes consistent expectations and accountabilities for how client experience is delivered across the Bank. Colleague Experience, in turn, leads the Bank’s strategy for creating meaningful, consistent colleague experiences through recognition, connection, engagement, events, and culture-building initiatives.
The Senior Manager, Governance & Control will lead the 1B relationship for these groups, advise and influence senior leaders, and enable the business to achieve its evolving mandates while navigating risk and control requirements. The role will lead the continued development of fit-for-purpose risk and control programs and provide oversight and effective challenge to help the business identify, manage, and escalate significant and emerging risks in alignment with the Bank’s risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
- ·Lead the Governance & Control relationship for Global Client Experience and Colleague Experience and serve as a trusted adviser to senior leaders.
- Advise on and oversee the risk and control priorities and practices for the supported groups.
- Lead the oversight and effective challenge of the application of relevant enterprise risk, governance, and control frameworks, standards, policies, and procedures, including those related to Operational Risk, Regulatory Compliance, Privacy, and other applicable risk areas.
- Lead and oversee the continued build-out and maturation of risk and control programs, including governance forums, risk reporting, oversight practices, and escalation pathways.
- Maintain a strong understanding of emerging risks and issues across the supported groups and escalate areas of concern as appropriate.
- Provide risk and control advice and effective challenge on material strategies, initiatives, risk assessments, and business decisions.
- Provide oversight and effective challenge on significant issues and business-owned remediation, including root cause analysis, remediation plans, progress, escalation, and closure readiness.
- Prepare clear risk insights, reporting, and recommendations to support senior management discussions and governance forums.
- Monitor changes to regulatory, policy, and internal requirements, assess impacts, and advise the supported groups on required actions.
- Lead relationships with key business stakeholders, ORM, Compliance, Legal, and other Risk & Control Partners.
- Promote consistency and coordination in risk and control coverage across the supported groups.
- Lead and support cross-functional projects and initiatives that advance business priorities and address emerging governance, risk, and control needs.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members, set clear priorities and expectations, and oversee the quality and timely delivery of G&C activities.
Job Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Extensive experience in Governance & Control, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting client experience, colleague or employee experience, Human Resources, or other enterprise-wide functions is an asset.
- Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop, and lead teams effectively.
- Strong knowledge of Operational Risk, Regulatory Compliance, and other relevant risk programs, with a broad understanding of all major risk categories.
Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee the establishment and maturation of governance and control programs in an evolving environment.
- Strong strategic thinking, judgment, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to assess complex and interconnected risks.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, navigate ambiguity, and deliver constructive, effective challenge.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across business, corporate, and control functions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex risk and control matters into clear insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead multiple complex priorities and deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to streamline processes, identify efficiencies, and improve how work is delivered.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable using Microsoft 365 Copilot.
