Cornell University welcomes candidates for the position ofAdvancement Services Records Specialist (CEMI)in our Alumni Affairs and Development division, based in Ithaca, NY. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the university's advancement efforts.

Position Summary

The Advancement Services Records Specialist (CEMI)is responsible forprocessing gifts using sound judgement, makingaccuratedeterminationsregardingtheappropriate account/designationnumber, processing and reconciling the gift data after entry, and/or entering complex pledge payments. Biographical processing includes verifying,creatingandmaintainingcomplete andaccuratedemographic data and interpreting data which originates from various sources. Information must be entered inan accurateandtimelymanner to ensure the integrity of the database.

This is a2 yearterm appointment which maybe endedorextendedbased on organizational needs, funding availability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gift/data entry and quality assurance, correcting inaccuraciestimely

  • Provide guidance and excellent customer service to colleagues in a highly professional manner

  • Contribute positively to a team with a growth mindset and with excellent team support skills

  • Other tasks and duties as assigned to support the full department as directed by supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree and two to four years of relevant work experience and/oran equivalentcombination of education and experience.

  • Technical acumen, experience in database entry and/or data quality assurance.

  • Proven experience in high volume, mission critical processing with accuracy and completeness

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional, trustworthy, and discreet manner.

  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships.

  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Work Location

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Employees typically perform this role remotely 3 days per week and in office 2 days per week. The university reserves the right tomodify, suspend,revokeorterminatethe hybrid work arrangement at any time.
