ABOUT TEAM4TECH

Team4Tech (www.team4tech.org) envisions a world where all learners have equitable access to quality education for improved socioeconomic mobility. We advance this mission by serving as an impact accelerator for community-based education NGOs in low income communities, providing them with technical, pedagogical and operational support to help them build the durable skills their learners need for future employability. Over the past 14 years, we have supported more than 1,400 NGOs in 110 countries, improving learning opportunities and developing durable skills for 60M under-resourced learners.

Team4Tech’s accelerator programming contributes to UN SDG 4 - to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Using evidence-based practices that promote education for employability, our accelerator programming, co-designed with community-based and education-focused NGOs operating in low-resource environments, includes:

  • A robust, global online Community of Practice (CoP) to engage with free education and technology tools, workshops, certification courses, learning cohorts, and other resources;
  • Facilitated regional hubs (in Africa, South Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the USA & Canada) for localized knowledge sharing and collaboration;
  • Access to skilled volunteers and educational resource partners to deliver pro bono capacity-building projects; and
  • Access to funding, amplification, and coaching to further promote NGO sustainability.

The rapid evolution of generative AI brings a new opportunity for personalized adaptive learning at scale for learners in under-resourced contexts around the world. Team4Tech is building upon the technical and pedagogical foundations we have helped develop with NGOs globally to now develop their capacity to use AI to enhance their education programs. Over the past two years, we have become the leading AI accelerator for education NGOs in low income contexts by delivering GenAI capacity building training cohorts for 80+ NGOs in more than 20 countries.

In line with our commitment to building AI skills across our NGO community, Team4Tech has recently been awarded a large-scale, multi-country project to advance AI literacy in secondary schools across Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. The project will reach 1.5 million secondary school learners and 12,500 educators over three years, embedding AI curriculum and teacher professional development directly into national education systems. Delivering at this scale will require close coordination across a wide network of partners, including Ministries of Education in all four countries and local NGOs responsible for in-country implementation, as well as teams working on curriculum design, teacher training, monitoring and evaluation, and country-level delivery. The project will use a localized train-the-trainer model, in which educators are equipped to integrate AI into their teaching and deliver project-based instruction covering generative AI fundamentals, effective prompting, critical verification, responsible use, and the future of work, adapted for low-resource and offline classroom settings. Given the number of countries, government partners, and NGOs involved, the project will depend on strong cross-country communication, consistent quality standards, and coordinated work planning to stay on track. This Project Manager position will play a key role in ensuring successful, on-time delivery of project objectives and activities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Project Manager will bring hands-on program management experience across multi-country initiatives, a track record of managing NGO grants and partner relationships, and the organizational rigor to keep complex, multi-stakeholder projects moving on time and on budget. This role will report to and work in close partnership with the Africa Regional Hub Director, taking day-to-day ownership of project delivery across the 4 African countries so the Hub Director can focus on regional strategy and senior external representation.

Specifically, the Project Manager will:

Manage day-to-day delivery of the project across 4 African countries

  • Ensure effective integration of project activities with national Ministries of Education across the 4 countries, in close coordination with the Africa Regional Hub Director and in-country project coordinators
  • Ensure integration and coordination across partner NGO workstreams so activities stay aligned with project timelines and goals
  • Flag delivery risks and resourcing needs to the Africa Regional Hub Director as they arise

Lead NGO onboarding and grant management

  • Lead the NGO onboarding process for the project
  • Manage NGO grants, communications, and deliverables, ensuring NGOs meet reporting and compliance requirements
  • Ensure integration across NGO partners' work so their activities complement rather than duplicate one another

Contribute to workplanning, budgeting, and capacity development

  • Contribute to annual workplanning and budgeting processes for the project
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget
  • Co-facilitate capacity development activities for Team4Tech NGO partners in coordination with other team members

Support planning and implementation of teacher training activities

  • Project manage the overall planning and delivery of master training, training of trainers, and teacher training cascades, in coordination with in-country project coordinators and partner NGOs

Contribute to the project’s M&E system and oversee routine data collection

  • Contribute to the development of the project's M&E system
  • Coordinate routine data collection across the 4 countries
  • Prepare progress reports for review
  • Review draft case studies prepared by NGO partners or team members

Project manage partner convening activities and Small Language Model pilot activities

  • Coordinate partner convening activities across the secondary, TVET, and higher education segments of the larger project, including coordination of different partner activities at the school level
  • Plan and facilitate quarterly convening meetings, gathering and synthesizing updates from across partners
  • Manage day-to-day delivery of Small Language Model pilot activities that are embedded in the project
  • Escalate convening and pilot delivery challenges to the Africa Regional Hub Director and organizational leadership as needed
