Job Summary
Frame business problems and define success criteria (KPIs, hypotheses, baseline, validation approach) in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to assess data quality, patterns, biases and business relevance; communicate findings clearly.
Build features using scalable transformations (PySpark/Spark SQL) and collaborate with Data Engineering on curated data products (Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse and/or Databricks Delta Lake).
Develop, evaluate and deploy analytical and machine learning models (classification, regression, forecasting, anomaly detection, NLP) using Python and Fabric notebooks and/or Databricks.
Industrialize analytics products by applying MLOps practices (versioning, CI/CD, automated tests, monitoring) and by partnering with platform teams to run solutions efficiently.
Ensure model reliability and responsible AI through robust validation, monitoring, explainability and documentation, aligned with security and compliance requirements.
Deliver reusable analytical assets (feature sets, notebooks, model artifacts and documentation) enabling BI and business teams to consume insights and operationalize decisions.
Core Skills and Experience Requirements
Experience: 5+ years in data science / applied machine learning roles; industrial/manufacturing exposure is a plus.
Statistics & ML fundamentals: probability, experimentation, model evaluation, bias/error analysis.
Python: strong skills with common ML/data libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow) and preferred exposure to PySpark.
Platforms: hands on Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks (notebooks, Spark, jobs/pipelines, workspace/security fundamentals).
MLOps: Git version control, reproducible environments, automated testing, CI/CD and monitoring for model deployment.
Governance mindset: documentation, access management, responsible AI and privacy by design; Power BI integration is a plus.
Languages: English required; French nice to have.
Soft skills: collaboration, clear communication, user/business orientation, time management, creativity and problem solving.
