Job Description

About Us:

Teledyne CML Composites is a specialist manufacturer of Advanced Composite components and assemblies for civil and defence Aerospace customers worldwide. We are currently seeking a Composite Manufacture Engineer to join our team.

The Role:

The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer in an Aerospace / Advanced Composites environment or other regulated industry.

This position requires a strong technical background in Manufacturing Engineering, Advanced Composites and Aerospace manufacturing.

As a Composite Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in the introduction of new work packages (NPI), supporting the bids and proposals team on new work package enquiries, process development and optimisation of existing manufacturing processes.

You will play a key role ensuring that our composite components are produced efficiently and repeatably to the required customer quality and design standards.

Key Responsibilities:

·Develop, implement and optimise composite manufacturing processes.

·Develop tooling concepts for the manufacture of composite components and assemblies.

·Compile accurate process plans, labour breakdown, Bill of Materials and tooling solutions to enable accurate quotations and bid proposals to be produced.

·Lead / assist with the resolution of day-to-day manufacturing issues.

·Create and maintain manufacturing process Work Instructions, shop orders and Bills of Materials (BOM’s).

·Support RCCA activity using structured problem-solving techniques (e.g. 8d).

·Support New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes.

·Lead and support Continuous Improvement / margin enhancement projects.

·Provide technical support to all business functions.

Qualifications & Experience:

·Strong understanding of advanced composite materials and manufacturing processes.

·Experience in Aerospace manufacturing or other regulated Engineering environment.

·Degree/HNC Engineering and/or Equivalent professional qualification.

·Experience with continuous improvement tools / techniques.

·Experienced using CAD packages.

·Computer literate (MS Office proficient).

·Strong problem-solving skills.

·Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to liaise effectively across departments of the business.
