In support of the growth of our Semiconductors business, we are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Field Application Engineer.

What You’ll Do

As part of the global Semiconductors Business Development Team, the primary purpose of this role is to conduct technical sales activities to actively contribute to Teledyne e2v Semiconductors’ division growth plan within the region.

The mission consists mainly of:

  • Promoting the complete Teledyne e2v Semiconductors product portfolio to existing and new prospects and projects
  • Realize and track design-in and design-win targets
  • Driving the identification and win of New Business Opportunities (NBO)
  • Handling first-level technical support with existing customers
  • Identifying new prospects, markets and applications
  • Preparing technical sales collateral to help promotion of the portfolio and training of our channel partners and customers
  • Write and present technical papers at shows and conferences

Main Accountabilities

Business Development and Technical Sales support (Pre & Post Sales)

  • Actively promote Teledyne e2v Semiconductors product portfolio, with a value proposition at “solution level”.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Managers, Channel Partners, and Business Units’ marketing teams to identify New Business Opportunities (NBOs) within the assigned account base and secure new design activities that will fuel the division’s short and mid-term revenue growth.
  • Closely monitor and track all design-in (customer commitment to evaluate the product) and design-win (customer using the product in production) opportunities to deliver to the targets as set forth by the BU management team.
  • Maintain the relevant design-in dashboards and NBO pipeline in CRM (either C4 or SalesForce)
  • Closely collaborate with the Business Units’ marketing teams to execute successful sales campaigns for New Product Introductions (NPIs).
  • Conduct product demonstrations to convince the customer’s engineering community to adopt Teledyne e2v products and solutions.
  • Provide post-sales, 1st level support to customers during their system development / integration phase.
  • Feedback technical inputs and customer requirements to Product Managers within each BU, to influence the product roadmap

Collateral and conference content generation; application notes, white papers

  • Provide technical content and sales collateral in close collaboration with Business Units’ marketing teams.
  • Develop application notes, highlighting technical benefits, and articulating the value proposition targeted at customer’s Engineering and Project Management audience.
  • Propose and present technical papers into targeted technical conferences to raise Teledyne e2v profile and thought leadership on the market.
  • Propose technical and application paper for publication within the region
  • Present within webinar sessions

Technical Channel training

  • Provide regular training sessions for indirect channels within the region focusing in particular on new products and highlighting their benefits
  • Provide training sessions for end-user customers within the region to help them develop their technological capabilities through our advanced products
  • Collaborate with the sales team to qualify indirect channel partners and assign them targets and KPIs that are in support of the division’s growth strategy.

Knowledge sharing, learning & development

  • Enhance own development by taking responsibility for staying informed and up to date with industry knowledge
  • Contribute to the learning environment by identifying areas where there is potential for learning and building knowledge

What You Need to be successful in this role

Application Engineering experience

  • Degree level qualified in Science or Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in engineering development, application engineering, technical sales support and customer interaction
  • Experience working with microprocessors, data converters, and/or RF products is a plus
  • Understanding of the following markets is a plus: Aerospace & Defence, Test & Measurement, Industrial Testing and/or Telecommunication

Communications

  • Listening, probing and analysis skills to capture & articulate VoM (Voice of the Market) and VoC (Voice of the Customer)
  • A highly effective bridge-builder linking e2v stakeholders to customers
  • Highly developed presentation skills to internal & external customers/stakeholders
  • Ability to work across global territories, within a multi-cultural environment
  • Fully proficiency in English

Mobility

  • The role requires extensive travel throughout the region to meet with customers and regular travel to Teledyne global locations, more particularly to Teledyne e2v Semiconductors in Grenoble, France.
