Job Description

Teledyne Micropac is looking for a QC Inspector, who performs inspections, checks testing and sampling procedures for product manufacturing processes to ensure company standards are met.

What you'll do

The essential functions and key responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

Under limited supervision performs and may be certified in a wide range of complex inspections. Performs in-process inspection of (mount, bond, solder, coat, mark, can weld and seal) and/or finished production assemblies for conformance to quality assurance standards. Working from final assembly drawings, engineering change notices or established operating procedures, determines acceptance, rejection or rework requirements for unit. Performs acceptance prior to shipment and supports customer source. Must have the ability to understand and accomplish job requirements by means of oral and written instructions; be able to effectively complete paperwork associated with job.

  • Conduct dimensional, visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections using approved inspection methods and equipment.
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain complete, legible quality records.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming material in accordance with company procedures.
  • Verify product identification, traceability, and configuration requirements throughout the inspection process.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork by supporting coworkers, sharing technical knowledge, and contributing to departmental goals.
  • Participate in cross-training programs to develop competency in multiple inspection areas, product families, and manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain qualification and proficiency across multiple product lines to support operational flexibility and business continuity
  • Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory audits, including preparation of records and corrective action follow-up.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to approved methods, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Communicate quality issues promptly and professionally to appropriate personnel.

What you need

  • One to three years manufacturing experience in inspection of standard electronic in line and final assemblies. - required
  • Typically requires high school education or equivalent, work in a team environment, meet all attendance requirements and demonstrate willingness to learn new operations. - required
  • Entry level to advanced computer knowledge. - required
  • Must be able to determine acceptance or rejection criteria, perform bond pulls, ball and die shear, element evaluation (solder ability, steam age and lead integrity). - required
  • Perform acceptance to ship and audit assembly process. - required
  • Experience in a clean room environment. - required
  • Adhere to established quality, safety, and housekeeping requirements.- required
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. - required
  • Flexible/adaptable - required
  • MIL-Specs (Mil-STD-750, MIL-STD-883, Mil-PRF-19500, Mil-PRF-38534) - advantage
  • Other spec knowledge as well (e.g., IPC, ISO, medical, automotive, etc). - advantage
