Teledyne LeCroy Inc. develops leading-edge test and measurement products. Engineering teams around the worlduse our systems to develop next generation communication, consumer electronicsand computer products.

We are looking for a Field Application Engineer to join our Protocol Solutions GroupTeam based in Milpitas, California.

This exciting opportunity will typically expose and involve the candidate in cutting edgeproduct and standardsdevelopment for new products and technology years before it reaches the consumer market. The role will primarily support customers using TeledyneLeCroy’sleading-edge test and measurement products for development and testing of HDMI, DisplayPortand other Video Protocols. The candidate will work with many teams including marketing, sales, engineering,and validation as required. Through hands-on learning, studying technical specifications, internal trainingand mentoring, we will aim to develop your expertiseto become one of the elite gurus in Videoprotocols and Teledyne LeCroy test instruments.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

• Provide support to customers using Teledyne LeCroy test and measurement equipment.

• Near real-time for USbased customers; remote or onsite as needed internationally

• Assistcustomers with pre- and post-sales technical support queries via email, phone,and on-site troubleshooting.

• Utilize understanding of protocols and Teledyne LeCroy products to help debug real-world problems.

• Engage in HDMIForum, VESA and DisplayPort Compliance Working Group calls and testingevents.

• Provide product demonstrations and protocol training webinars.

• Generate and review product documentation for customer use-cases.

• Contribute to sales presentations,showcasingproducttechnical features and processes.

• Build lasting customer relationships to gain constructive product feedbackfor improving user experiences.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Validation teams torecreate customer test environments forreproducingand troubleshootingissues found in the field.

• Document and communicatecustomerrequirementswith Engineering to develop customized solutions.

• Gather field data, document findings, and prepare detailed reports on project status, technical issues,and corrective actions.

• Work within and adhere to organizationaland government trade compliancepolicies and practices.

Preferred candidates would have:

• Excellentcommunication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) inEnglish.

• Strong analytical and proactive problem-solvingskills.

• High attention to detail while performing daily tasks such as documenting, troubleshootingand communicating.

• Ability to obtain necessary documentation to travel domestically and internationally for customer visits and industry events.

• Education level: Degree or higher:BSEE/BSCS, bachelor’sdegree (B.S.) in Electronics/ electrical engineering / relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education and job experience.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to different job sites.

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Technical customer supportand/or B2B sales experience.

• Experience in basic coding (such as Python, C#or TCL) for scripting automated software.

Ideal additionalskills/background:

• Knowledgeand debug experience invarious USB generations, protocolsand associated standards.

• HDMI (2.2 and earlier)

• DisplayPort (2.1and earlier), eDP

• USB Power Delivery (2, 3)

• Thunderbolt (4, 5)

• DisplayPort Alternate Mode and Tunneled DisplayPort

• MIPI C-PHY/D-PHY

• Legacy Video technologies (DVI/SDI/VGA/Analog)

• Comfortable interfacing with customers and being part of the Sales process face-to-face or remotely.

• Basic understanding of computer networkingconfigurationsand protocols.

• Experience using test instruments (e.g.compliance testers, packet sniffers, signal generators/analyzers).

• HDMI, DP and/or MIPIStandards Compliance or Validation Testing experience.

• Strong familiarity with Windows and Mac operating environment.

• Foreign language skills idealbut not required.

• Good understanding of Sales and product development cycles, as part of the customer decision-making process.

• Experience in debugging other Serial-based protocols and interfaces (such as Bluetooth, RS-232, UART and SPI)
