SDE II (React Native)

As a React Native Software Development Engineer, you will be part of an agile team developing Tesco's customer-facing mobile application. You will work closely with product managers and cross-functional teams to build scalable, high-performance, and maintainable mobile solutions that enhance the customer experience for millions of users.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain React Native mobile applications.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver new features.
• Build scalable and high-quality solutions using modern mobile development practices.
• Integrate GraphQL APIs and ensure seamless application performance.
• Follow the complete software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Contribute to technical decisions, code reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
• Mentor team members and promote best practices in mobile development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Strong commercial experience with React Native development.
• Experience architecting complex mobile applications.
• Good understanding of mobile platform capabilities and limitations.
• Experience integrating GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of mobile accessibility standards.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and testing practices (BDD, TDD, ATDD).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Passion for mobile development, with GitHub or open-source contributions being a plus.
