Software Developer Engineer (Node.js)

We are looking for an experienced Node.js Software Development Engineer II (SDE 2)to join our engineering team. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services while integrating customer support platforms such as Zendesk or similar CRM/service desk solutions. The ideal candidate has strong backend development expertise, experience building APIs, and exposure to customer support platforms and agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js .
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and backend microservices.
• Integrate third-party platforms such as Zendesk, Freshdesk, ServiceNow, Salesforce Service Cloud, or HubSpot.
• Develop robust API integrations between internal systems and external applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, QA Engineers, and cross-functional teams.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimise application performance.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, and Retrospectives.

Requirements:

• 8-13 years of software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Node.js .
• Excellent proficiency in JavaScript.
• Experience with REST APIs and API integrations.
• Hands-on experience integrating third-party applications.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture and scalable application design.
• Experience working with Git and modern development workflows.

Good to Have:

• Experience with Zendesk.
• Exposure to Freshdesk, ServiceNow, Salesforce Service Cloud, or HubSpot.
• Experience working in Scrum or Kanban environments.
• Understanding of cloud-based applications and distributed systems.
