Staff Frontend Software Engineer, Factory Software

Tesla is seeking a Staff Frontend Software Engineer to build scalable software for its Manufacturing Execution systems, an internally developed platform supporting manufacturing across Tesla facilities. The role leads end-to-end projects, develops maintainable production-critical systems, mentors engineers, and collaborates with manufacturing, quality, and material systems teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, maintainable code that addresses real-world manufacturing challenges
• Lead end-to-end projects, from gathering requirements and architectural design through implementation, testing, and production deployment
• Mentor engineers and uphold global standards of excellence in software craftsmanship
• Prioritize robust, production-critical systems with strong validation, monitoring, and support mechanisms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Material systems

Skills

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related or equivalent experience
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience
• Proven experience implementing large-scale projects in front end technologies like React, Angular, HTML, JavaScript/Typescript, CSS, or similar
• Basic understanding of back-end technologies like Go, Java, C++, Rust, or similar for full-stack development and SQL databases
• Proficiency in rigorous software development practices, including version control, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging
• Proficiency in utilizing SI tools used in software development, ie Grok, Claude
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives from concept to production
• 6+ years of professional experience
