Chief Accountant

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all daily accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and analytical accounting.

Prepare, review, and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Luxembourg GAAP and, if applicable, IFRS standards.

Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

Coordinate and support internal and external audits as well as tax audits.

Collaborate closely with the tax department to manage VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, and other fiscal obligations.

Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Drive initiatives to improve financial reporting, internal controls, and automation of accounting workflows.

Provide financial support and relevant accounting expertise for cross-functional projects and management requests.

Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional accounting qualifications are a plus.

Minimum 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within Luxembourg or international settings.

Strong knowledge of Luxembourg accounting standards (Lux GAAP) and solid understanding of IFRS.

In-depth understanding of Luxembourg tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams.

Proficient with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills required.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, autonomous, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Excellent communication skills in English and French.
