What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $23.89 - $27.50 . We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location & Schedule

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you are expected to work 3 days at our Castro office and two days from home after fully trained. During the training period, candidates may work from the Castro office five days a week. Flexibility is required, as the number of in-person or remote days may vary depending on the training and the candidate's needs. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

Division of Economic Security:

Through our Economic Security Division (ESD), Denver Human Services seeks to engage residents in strengthening economic well-being and mobility across their lifespan. By leveraging the resources of Denver Human Services’ programs and a network of community partnerships, Economic Security provides a holistic approach to service delivery in order to assist customers in the ability to foresee crisis as well as adapt to and leverage changing life conditions to their advantage.

The Economic Security Division is comprised of the following program areas: Colorado Works Workforce Development, SNAP to Success (Denver’s name for Employment First), Childcare Assistance Program (CCAP) and Child Support Services (CSS).

Child Support Services (CSS) is currently seeking highly skilled applicants for the position of Child Support Enforcement Technician II. This posting will be used to fill multiple Child Support Enforcement Technician II positions. One of the positions will be an Intergovernmental Child Support Enforcement Technician II, working with other state child support agencies.

Specifically, as a Child Support Enforcement Technician II you will:

  • Completes the early intervention process by interviewing customers as well as researching and gathering any remaining relevant information and all necessary case documentation to provide ongoing child support case management services.
  • Effectively manage both automated (system-selected) and manual enforcement remedies to ensure appropriate application (and/or suppression) based upon unique case and individual situations and further utilize critical thinking to determine whether any resources are available to assist families with breaking down barriers to compliance with court-ordered support obligations and financial stability in general.
  • Determines and employs appropriate automated or manual enforcement remedies including but not limited to: income assignments, deductions for health insurance, liens on bank accounts, tax refund intercepts, lottery intercepts, suspension of licenses, reporting to credit bureaus, contempt citations, judgments and interstate cases.
  • Utilize various systems and processes to locate information regarding the parties to support the enforcement of the child support orders.
  • Meets with and communicates with clients regarding explanation of child support enforcement services, processes and requirements as well as coordinates stipulations and settlements.
  • Assess, plan, monitors and evaluates cases to improve outcomes for assigned child support cases.
  • Prepares cases for court hearings by organizing case files to include relevant documents for legal proceedings as well as prepare legal documents for individual cases as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Experience engaging customers from diverse backgrounds with a solution-oriented approach through phone, email, and face-to-face contact.
  • Experience with ACSES, CBMS, Adobe and Microsoft suite is a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License preferred.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
  • Experience Requirement: Four (4) years of experience performing child support initiation, enforcement, collections, investigations, case management or a related field
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
