The Coca-Cola Company is an American beverage business founded in Atlanta in 1892 whose defining commercial decision was to sell concentrate to independent bottlers rather than to bottle and distribute drinks itself. That structure keeps the company's own capital employed low and its margins high while the bottling partners carry the trucks, plants and working capital, and it explains why the company periodically buys and then refranchises bottling operations. Its portfolio extends well beyond the original drink into Sprite, Fanta, Costa Coffee, Minute Maid, Powerade, Topo Chico and BodyArmor, and it is a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

Job Description Summary:

At The Coca-Cola Company, innovation, and compliance work hand in hand to ensure that every product we deliver meets the highest standards while delighting consumers across North America. Our Scientific & Regulatory Affairs (SRA) team plays a vital role in enabling growth through safe, compliant innovation, supporting our iconic brands, and protecting the trust consumers place in us every day.

As a Consultant for Technical & Scientific Regulatory Affairs (SRA), you will be at the intersection of science, regulation, and innovation-helping to ensure recipes, ingredients, labels, and marketing communications meet both regulatory requirements and Company standards. This position supports the North America Operating Unit by collaborating across multiple functions, including Global SRA, Legal, Quality, and Formula Governance, to drive compliance excellence, risk mitigation, and sustainable innovation. If you are passionate about regulatory science, details, and enabling safe product launches, this role offers a platform to influence one of the most dynamic and recognized beverage portfolios in the world.

What You’ll Do for Us

  • Lead key SRA workstreams for North America Operating Unit focused on ingredient, product, label, and claims compliance within innovation projects across multiple beverage categories.
  • Review and approve product formulas, ingredient lists, packaging artwork, labels, and digital content for regulatory compliance with U.S. and Canadian regulations and Company policies.
  • Support cross-functional partners-including Technical, Brand, and Legal teams-with clear regulatory assessments that balance risk management with innovation enablement.
  • Participate in risk assessments, providing structured regulatory input to mitigate potential compliance barriers early in development cycles.
  • Conduct competitive assessments of claims and share insights to identify whitespace opportunities and inform innovation strategy for the portfolio.
  • Help implement and maintain SRA digital tools, systems, and frameworks that improve process efficiency and ensure consistency across markets.
  • Provide regulatory guidance in response to consumer, customer, and advocacy requests related to nutrition, ingredients, and product information across TCCC beverage portfolio.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field required.
    • Master’s degree or advanced certification in regulatory, quality, nutrition, or compliance preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years of experience in Scientific & Regulatory Affairs roles or technical compliance within the food and beverage industry, or a related CPG environment.
    • Familiarity with the North American regulatory landscape, including FDA and Health Canada requirements for product labeling, ingredient declarations, and permissible claims.
  • Technical Knowledge & Skills:
    • Experience reviewing product formulations, labeling, packaging artwork, and digital communications for accuracy and compliance.
    • Strong understanding of claims governance and substantiation processes within a consumer-facing product environment.
    • Working experience with digital regulatory tools and platforms; ability to learn and navigate enterprise systems supporting formula governance and SRA workflows.
    • Data literacy and ability to use insights for compliance risk assessments and decision-making support.
  • Capabilities & Behaviors:
    • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy in data and compliance documentation.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex science and regulations into actionable language for stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving, matrixed organization.
    • Embodiment of Coca-Cola Leadership Behaviors, inclusive mindset, and Growth Behaviors that drive collaboration and continuous learning.
