The Coca-Cola Company is an American beverage business founded in Atlanta in 1892 whose defining commercial decision was to sell concentrate to independent bottlers rather than to bottle and distribute drinks itself. That structure keeps the company's own capital employed low and its margins high while the bottling partners carry the trucks, plants and working capital, and it explains why the company periodically buys and then refranchises bottling operations. Its portfolio extends well beyond the original drink into Sprite, Fanta, Costa Coffee, Minute Maid, Powerade, Topo Chico and BodyArmor, and it is a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-system problems affecting production.
  • Support syrup batching, processing, filling, packaging, conveying, palletizing, and material-handling equipment.

  • Perform equipment alignments, lubrication, fabrication, installation, and modification work as assigned.
  • Support plant utility and facility systems, which may include boilers, chillers, compressed air, water treatment, wastewater, and building systems.
  • Respond to production calls, communicate clearly with operators and supervisors, and prioritize work based on safety, quality, and production impact.
  • Assist production personnel with equipment setup, adjustment, and proper equipment operation when needed.
  • Document troubleshooting findings, repairs, labor, parts usage, and follow-up work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Identify recurring failures and recommend corrective actions or equipment improvements.
  • Follow all safety, food-safety, quality, environmental, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas and return equipment to production in a safe and sanitary condition.
  • Safely operate forklifts, high-reach equipment, aerial lifts, and other powered equipment after completing required training.
  • Work cooperatively with technicians, production personnel, contractors, and plant leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of:

  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Ability to achieve a passing score at the Maintenance Technician I level of the company’s technical assessment.
  • Ability to safely lift, climb, bend, kneel, work at heights, and perform maintenance work in an active industrial environment.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound troubleshooting decisions, and communicate effectively during equipment breakdowns.
  • Ability to work the assigned shift and provide overtime, weekend, holiday, or emergency coverage as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical degree, apprenticeship, or recognized industrial-maintenance certification.
  • Experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical-processing, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLC diagnostics and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience with variable-frequency drives, instrumentation, and process-control equipment.
  • Welding, machining, or metal-fabrication experience.
  • Experience using SAP or another computerized maintenance management system.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Maintenance Technician does more than replace failed parts. This person troubleshoots systematically, performs quality repairs, documents the work accurately, communicates with the people affected, and helps prevent the same failure from happening again. Safety, food quality, equipment reliability, and teamwork are essential parts of every job.
