Senior Product Designer, Growth (global)

With $30M+ ARR, 100% YoY growth, and a newly expanded product suite (ad network, website builder, paid tiers), we’re entering our next phase of hypergrowth.

As our Senior Product Designer (Growth), you will own design across the surfaces that shape how users onboard, activate, convert, and grow with beehiiv - onboarding, activation, conversion, expansion, and retention. You’ll start by taking over our early onboarding journeys, bringing a fresh, experimentation-first lens to some of the highest-leverage moments in the user journey.

This role requires a deep understanding of growth and lifecycle design - translating ambiguous, often qualitative problems (why do users churn? why don't they upgrade? what's blocking activation?), coupled with analytics and quantitative insights into clear design hypotheses, shipping them fast, and iterating based on what the data tells you. You'll work closely with Product, Growth, and Engineering, and alongside our two product designers who own the core platform experience.

Note that compensation is dependent on experience, skills, and location.

Ideally, you will have:

• 5+ years of experience as a product designer, ideally with meaningful time spent on growth, activation, lifecycle, or monetization surfaces (not just core product/feature design)
• A track record of designing for experimentation - comfortable scoping A/B tests, phased rollouts, and iterating quickly based on quantitative results, not just qualitative feedback
• Ability to take a vague, high-stakes problem (reducing churn, clarifying a downgrade flow, improving activation) and turn it into a crisp, testable design point of view
• Excellent communication, listening, and writing skills - you can clearly explain design rationale and trade-offs to cross-functional stakeholders, including leadership
• Ability to read and analyze data, and use that to come up with hypotheses and inform your design decisions
• Prior experience in the newsletter/media/publishing/SaaS industry is a plus
• Strong organizational skills: able to work independently with little direction when necessary
• Genuine excitement about scaling a nascent platform
• An ownership mentality

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Own end-to-end design across onboarding, activation, upsells, expansion & churn - the surfaces most directly tied to conversion and retention
• Partner with Product and Growth to turn user research, support signals, and product data into design hypotheses, then design and ship experiments to test them
• Redesign high-friction moments in the funnel (e.g. the in-app downgrade flow, trial-to-paid conversion, first-time activation) with a clear focus on reducing churn and improving conversion
• Work closely with our senior product designers to stay consistent with beehiiv's core design language while pushing a distinctly growth-oriented, test-and-learn approach in your areas
• Collaborate directly with engineering to scope design lift accurately and ship iteratively rather than waiting for “perfect”
• Present your thinking, rationale, and trade-offs to the product and leadership team, and incorporate feedback quickly
