London is one of the world’s most diverse and dynamic cities. Policing it requires innovative technology and highly skilled people who can support frontline operations with reliable, secure and adaptable systems.
The Role
As a Network Engineer , you’ll play a crucial part in protecting London. You’ll join a talented, tight-knit engineering team responsible for developing, testing, deploying and maintaining specialist network systems that directly support operational policing. Your work will help officers respond faster, act smarter and stay safer.
You’ll be joining a friendly and collaborative team of around 50 engineers responsible for designing, developing, building and deploying a wide range of technical solutions, primarily supporting surveillance and operational policing activities. Within this wider function, you’ll work as part of the Infrastructure Team, a specialist group of 10 enthusiastic engineers with a passion for networking, communications and infrastructure technologies.
We are seeking a Network Engineer to support the delivery and ongoing development of specialist network technology across London. This is a hands-on technical role combining engineering expertise, operational support and collaboration with multiple teams and suppliers. You will work with a range of network technologies, specialist equipment and secure systems used in frontline policing environments.
Although primarily a workshop-based role, it does involve some field deployment across London, so a full UK driving licence is essential, with willingness to obtain C1/D1. Operational demand may require occasional work outside standard business hours. Due to the sensitivity of the systems you will support, you must hold or be willing to obtain SC(e) security clearance.
