About the role
TNC is scaling its Services segment through a buy-and-build acquisition strategy layered on a growing organic field and professional services book. The Director of Finance, Services is the segment finance lead for Services, owning planning, forecasting, contract economics, and deal support for the segment. Accounting and controllership are centralized under the CAO; this role owns everything forward-looking for Services.
Role is embedded with the Services organization as the day-to-day finance partner to segment operating leaders, while reporting to the VP, Nuclear Finance, preserving a clean group finance line. Builds and leads the Services finance team so the segment can absorb acquisitions without losing forecast accuracy or reporting discipline. Success depends on operating fluently across two worlds...
1) the operational, field-driven rhythm of a labor-intensive services business, working closely with P&L owners on jobs, crews, and customers, and
2) group planning and reporting, partnering tightly with the VP, Nuclear Finance, the Controller's team, and Corporate FP&A so Services plugs cleanly into corporate processes.
Responsibilities
Business partnership & P&L leadership
- Primary day-to-day finance partner to Services operating leaders and P&L owners; own the financial narrative behind the Services P&L
- Bring financial rigor and challenge to the business; help shape pricing, rate cards, bidding, and margin decisions
- Deliver decision-quality analysis on job profitability, unit economics, labor utilization, backlog, and working capital
- Run the monthly operating review rhythm with Services leadership
FP&A and planning
- Own the Services annual operating plan, rolling forecast, and long-range plan, integrating acquired businesses into a single segment operating model that rolls up cleanly to the group plan
- Establish and track the KPIs that matter for the segment: job margin, utilization, backlog-to-bill, DSO and working capital
- Maintain forecast accuracy standards for executive and board reporting
Contract economics & classification
- Own segment and line-of-business classification at contract inception, working the revenue checklist with the Controller's team so every new contract lands where it belongs on day one
- Keep rate cards current and defensible, including for related-party engagements, and give every material bid a finance view before it goes out
Deal finance & M&A
- Support deal finance for the Services acquisition program: financial diligence, deal models, and integration planning through post-close performance tracking
- Partner with Corporate Development and the CAO organization on opening balance sheets and post-acquisition true-ups
- Hold acquired businesses accountable to the financial premise underlying each deal
Executive reporting
- Deliver segment-grade Services reporting aligned to how the company presents its operating segments
- Prepare Services content for board and executive leadership reviews
Systems, AI & scalability
- Build and deploy AI tools and agentic workflows across Services planning, forecasting, and reporting; scale the function through AI rather than headcount
- Partner on standardizing acquired businesses onto TNC's ERP and finance systems
Team & organization building
- Hire, develop, and lead the Services finance managers, building bench strength beneath the director seat
- Establish a finance operating model that absorbs acquisitions without proportional headcount growth
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A leadership and operating or segment finance ownership
- Working command of ASC 606 for service contracts: time and materials, cost plus, and fixed price
- Experience partnering directly with operational P&L owners and translating operating strategy into financial outcomes
- Demonstrated M&A finance exposure: diligence, deal models, or integration
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Preferred Experience
- CPA and/or MBA
- Field services, nuclear, utilities, or industrial services experience; comfort with craft labor economics (utilization, per diems, pass-through costs)
- Track record of value creation in an acquisitive (buy-and-build) environment
- NetSuite or comparable ERP fluency
- Hands-on experience deploying AI and automation in core finance processes

Estimated Starting Salary Range
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $178,000 - $204,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
