Project Manager
First seen by Alion on Oct 21, 2026.
If site constraints threaten momentum, then you can take charge and drive ammonia refrigeration projects through to close-out.
Is this you?
You thrive when programmes, costs or site conditions shift. Practical, approachable and ready to take ownership, you build credibility quickly, make clear decisions under pressure and keep clients, engineers, technicians and contractors focused on moving complex work forward.
What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)
Drive industrial ammonia refrigeration projects from handover through commissioning and close-out. You will build programmes, coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing and installation, and keep scope, milestones, budgets, quality and safety moving in the right direction. Spot risks early, manage variations and reporting, and bring suppliers, contractors, site teams and customers together to solve technical challenges and deliver with control.
Where you'll be doing it
Switch between technical discussions and hands-on delivery across industrial and agricultural sites. Base in the Western Cape, you will travel regularly throughout South Africa and into other African markets, gaining variety and direct involvement far beyond a fixed office routine.
What you'll need
Bring demonstrable industrial ammonia refrigeration experience, project delivery capability and a sound understanding of installations and commissioning. A relevant engineering, refrigeration, mechanical, technical or trade qualification is preferred, with project management training advantageous. You will also need commercial awareness, sharp planning and problem-solving skills, confidence with technical documentation, a valid driver's licence and flexibility to travel regularly.
What you'll get
Take real ownership from handover to close-out, shaping technical, commercial and site decisions. You will work directly with customers, engineers, suppliers and contractors across African markets while building the experience to lead increasingly complex industrial refrigeration projects.
