Data Engineering Analyst

Overview:

Cigna International Health is seeking a motivated Data Engineering Analyst to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of cloud-based data and AI solutions. This role will contribute to building scalable, secure, and reliable data platforms that enable business insights, analytics, automation, and AI-driven capabilities.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to develop high-quality solutions, write clean and maintainable code, and support the successful delivery of data engineering initiatives aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Data Engineering & Development:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain cloud-based data solutions and pipelines.
• Support the implementation of AI and data platform capabilities under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established development standards and best practices.
• Assist in designing and optimizing ETL/ELT workflows and data processing solutions.
• Participate in troubleshooting, monitoring, and improving platform reliability and performance.

Collaboration & Delivery:

• Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Contribute to project execution, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
• Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and deployment processes.
• Support the implementation of secure, scalable, and well-governed cloud solutions.

Continuous Improvement:

• Learn and adopt emerging technologies, cloud services, and AI capabilities.
• Contribute ideas for automation, optimization, and process improvements.
• Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and team collaboration activities.

Requirements:

Experience:

• 2-5 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, with a strong record in cloud-native data solutions.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway, or similar cloud technologies.
• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with data engineering technologies such as AWS Glue, Spark, Databricks, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and transformation.
• Working knowledge of Python for automation and data processing.
• Familiarity with source control and CI/CD practices using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Exposure to GenAI platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, or similar technologies is a plus.
• Experience using AI productivity tools and basic prompt engineering techniques is desirable.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Desirable:

• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Exposure to Jira or similar project management tools.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and cloud best practices.
• Experience working with global teams or healthcare/insurance domains is an advantage.
