This is a senior technical leadership role focused on building a reliable, scalable, and agile enterprise hybrid application platform.
You will bridge platform engineering and database teams while developing self-service tooling and automation for cloud-based infrastructure.
The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic ownership of CI/CD, infrastructure automation, observability, security, and deployment practices.
You will work across engineering, infrastructure, application development, security, QA, governance, and business teams to modernize technology and improve delivery.
Your expertise will help establish resilient platforms, streamline software delivery, and strengthen operational excellence across the organization.

Accountabilities
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable enterprise application platforms across hybrid and cloud environments.
- Own and evolve the organization’s CI/CD technology stack, establishing best practices for continuous integration, continuous delivery, testing, packaging, deployment, and version control.
- Build self-service tooling and automation that enables engineering teams to provision, configure, deploy, and scale infrastructure efficiently.
- Partner with infrastructure teams to automate environment setup and infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, configuration management, and related technologies.
- Architect, provision, monitor, and maintain AWS resources while supporting cloud, hybrid, and on-premises hosting strategies.
- Design and improve monitoring, alerting, observability, and operational processes to strengthen platform reliability and incident response.
- Automate security activities, including code scanning, package scanning, vulnerability detection, and other controls designed to identify and mitigate technology risks.
- Develop automated testing, deployment validation, code-versioning workflows, and GitHub Actions to improve software quality and release confidence.
- Define development, testing, release, update, and support processes in collaboration with technical teams across the organization.
- Manage and optimize container platforms using Docker and Kubernetes while supporting modern application delivery practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to establish DevOps execution strategies for individual projects and enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Research and recommend emerging technologies, solutions, protocols, and standards to modernize the enterprise CI/CD platform.
- Develop and maintain service-hosting decision frameworks that help determine when workloads should run on-premises, in hybrid environments, or in the cloud.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple projects and teams, balancing independent execution with collaborative delivery.
- Support mission-critical systems on a 24/7 basis when required and contribute to continuous improvement of platform reliability and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technology discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 18-20 years of overall experience in technology-related roles, including 8-10 years focused on infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, or large-scale technology transformation.
- Deep hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Python, and scripting languages.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD and DevOps tooling, including repositories, packaging, testing, code scanning, package scanning, and deployment technologies such as Maven, Gradle, Helm, and Sonatype.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud platforms, Linux operating systems, networking, databases, and modern enterprise application environments.
- Experience designing and implementing automation and Infrastructure as Code across complex technology environments.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence, with the ability to operate effectively across both Agile and traditional project teams.
- Knowledge of web application development and the ability to collaborate closely with application engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to modernize technology platforms, improve delivery processes, and introduce new tools and practices at enterprise scale.
- Strong understanding of security considerations within DevOps environments, including vulnerability identification, automated scanning, and risk mitigation.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to attract, retain, mentor, and develop engineering talent.
- Self-motivated, initiative-driven, curious, and comfortable asking questions and exploring new technologies.
- Action-oriented mindset with a willingness to experiment, learn from mistakes, and continuously improve.
- DevOps engineering certification is preferred.
- Competitive annual base salary ranging from $104,839 to $252,194 USD, depending on location, experience, skills, and qualifications.
- Typical California hiring range of $171,148.50 to $237,706.25 USD.
