Director - Data Governance

Application Development - Generalist role are involved in software development use specialized knowledge of programming languages, software integration and delivery platforms to build custom software applications and/or enhancements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• The job also involves application enhancement, debugging, maintenance and documentation.
• They may also work on customization for in-house/third party product and platforms.
• Common skill sets include (but are not restricted to) C, C++, Java, J2EE, .Net, Oracle, ABAP etc.

• Define and own Nuveen's multi-year Collibra and data governance roadmap, translating enterprise policy into an executable strategy across all lines of business
• Represent data governance priorities to senior leadership, secure executive sponsorship and own the ROI/business case for continued platform investment
• Direct stakeholder engagement to gather and prioritize data cataloging, glossary, and lineage requirements; enforce a consistent Collibra implementation standard across the organization
• Oversee the team implementing Collibra functionality (cataloging, glossary, lineage, policy enforcement); review and approve technical designs for Collibra DG/DQ rules
• Guide integration architecture between Collibra and other data management, analytics and cloud platforms
• Build, manage and develop a team of data governance analysts/engineers, including goal-setting, performance management and mentoring
• Define data governance KPIs and ensure regular executive reporting on progress, risk, and adoption
• Drive continuous improvement of the governance platform and identify systemic gaps to address
• Own change management strategy, training, and documentation to drive organization-wide adoption; serve as escalation point for cross-functional issues
