We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join a global digital health product environment focused on improving clinical trial experiences for patients, healthcare professionals, and regulators. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer who can contribute hands-on, quickly understand complex product domains, collaborate effectively with distributed teams, and help maintain high engineering quality in a regulated healthcare technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend and full-stack solutions in a modern product engineering environment.
Build and extend backend-for-frontend services and configuration layers.
Develop and maintain REST APIs and support integration between services and product components.
Work with database modelling.
Contribute to microservice-based architecture and event-driven solutions, including technologies such as Kafka.
Support development, deployment, and maintenance of services running in cloud/containerized environments such as Kubernetes.
Use AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly as part of the development process, ensuring AI-generated output is reviewed, tested, and owned with the same rigor as hand-written code.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with Java development and enterprise-level applications
Strong programming skills in TypeScript, Java, or similar modern programming languages.
Solid experience with backend development and full-stack engineering.
Good understanding of microservices architecture and integration patterns.
Strong database modelling skills; experience with MongoDB or other document databases is highly valuable.
Experience working with complex systems, large codebases, and evolving product environments.
Good understanding of automated testing and quality-focused engineering practices.
Ability to contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, feature refinement, and solution design.
Strong ownership mindset with attention to code quality, maintainability, and long-term product sustainability.
A significant advantage would be
- Hands-on experience with NodeJS, Express, REST APIs, and service-oriented architecture.
Experience with Kafka or other messaging/event-streaming technologies.
Experience with Kubernetes and containerized application environments.
Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms.
