About the role:

We're building the financial infrastructure that powers lending, KYC, payments, fraud prevention, and collections at scale and we're looking for a senior backend engineer to help design and grow it. You'll partner day-to-day with Product, Operations, Compliance, and Data Science to ship systems where reliability and correctness aren't nice-to-haves; they're the product.

The problems here are genuinely hard: engineering high-throughput financial platforms, orchestrating intricate compliance workflows, and turning alternative and real-time signals into smart credit and risk decisions. The surface area spans backend services, underwriting and decisioning engines, integrations with external financial providers, and the internal tooling that keeps operations running.

What you'll do:

- Build products and APIs for both customers and internal teams, with security and performance treated as first-class concerns.

- Help set the direction of our technical and product roadmap through sharp inputs, and take end-to-end ownership of the outcomes you sign up for.

- Work across functions Android, ML, Data, DevOps, and more to spot growth opportunities and build the systems they depend on.

- Level up the engineers around you through mentorship and example.

- Scale our backend to keep pace with relentlessly growing traffic and complexity.

What we're looking for:

- 5+ years designing, building, and delivering server-side software for web and mobile products.

- A track record of working alongside business stakeholders and leadership to make consequential product and technical calls.

- Strong command of software fundamentals computer science foundations, distributed systems, data persistence, and iterative delivery.

- The ability to translate that expertise into quality software that actually ships, on time.

- Working fluency across adjacent areas (Android, ML, DevOps, etc.) enough to contribute meaningfully to those conversations.

- A pragmatic instinct for balancing technical and product realities to land on the right solution, not just the fastest one.

- An ownership mindset: you spot and solve problems before they become fires.

- Excellent collaboration and communication. You treat building software as a group effort: you listen, speak up, and ask the questions that matter.

- Genuine enthusiasm for working in a globally distributed team.

Working with AI:

- AI fluency is a baseline expectation. You use it to sharpen your thinking, not outsource it decomposing problems before you prompt so you stay in control of the architecture.

- You review AI output as rigorously as human code, with a nose for plausible-but-wrong solutions and tests that pass without proving anything. You own the final result and can articulate exactly why you overrode a suggestion.

- You curate what context a tool sees to keep signal high, and you sense when a prompt speeds you up versus when a problem calls for quiet, independent thought.

- You take AI-era security seriously prompt injection, data leakage, secret handling because "agentic" should never mean "unguarded."

- You automate the repetitive so your focus stays on the decisions that genuinely need a human.

- You keep pace with a fast-moving landscape, understand the tools you rely on, and raise your own ceiling as they improve.
