You as part of tonies:

Support the effective running and continuous improvement of tonies’ global S&OP / IBP process by owning the operational backbone of the monthly cycle. The role ensures meetings are well prepared and well documented, inputs are complete and consistent, and planning insights/KPIs are consolidated into high-quality packs that enable strong cross-functional decisions.

The S&OP / IBP Planner works closely with the S&OP / IBP Lead (Planning CoE) and cross-functional stakeholders to standardise templates, maintain calendars, track actions and decisions, and progressively strengthen data quality, reporting, and planning routines in a low-maturity environment. The role is hands-on and execution-oriented: “make it happen” for the cycle.

Scope

  • Operational management and orchestration of the global monthly S&OP / IBP cycle (Demand Review → Supply Review → Pre-IBP alignment → Executive IBP).
  • Consolidation of demand/supply/financial inputs into standard meeting packs and dashboards.
  • Action, decision, and risk/opportunity tracking across the cycle, ensuring follow-up and transparency.
  • Support to planning governance, data discipline, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

Key responsibilities

1) Process (run the monthly cycle “engine room”)

  • Own the monthly S&OP / IBP calendar end-to-end: schedule all cycle steps, send invites, manage deadlines, and distribute pre-reads.
  • Coordinate input collection across functions and markets (demand, supply, inventory, constraints, NPI, risks & opportunities, financial impacts).
  • Ensure meeting readiness for each step (Demand Review → Supply Review → Pre-IBP alignment → Executive IBP): complete inputs, aligned assumptions, clear storyline, decision-focused content.
  • Support facilitation during key meetings (timekeeping, parking lot topics, action capture, decision confirmations).

2) Methods (analytics, pack building, insights)

  • Build and maintain standard decks/templates for each S&OP/IBP step; consolidate inputs into decision-ready packs (slides, dashboards, summaries) together with the S&OP / IBP Lead.
  • Consolidate and validate key planning metrics (e.g., forecast accuracy/bias by horizon, service/OTIF, inventory health, plan adherence, exceptions) and produce concise insights for stakeholders.
  • Create practical analyses to explain drivers and patterns (e.g., forecast error by SKU segment, launch vs steady-state performance, constraint drivers).
  • Support scenario comparison materials (e.g., constrained vs unconstrained plans, allocation options, inventory trade-offs) for decision-making.

3) Governance (standards, traceability, follow-through)

  • Document minutes, decisions, and trade-offs; maintain action logs with owners and due dates; proactively follow up to ensure closure.
  • Maintain “single version of the truth” files and version control; ensure consistent structure, naming, and transparency of assumptions.
  • Track and update risks/opportunities and mitigations (demand upside/downside, capacity constraints, supplier issues, expedites), and trigger escalations when thresholds are met.
  • Support standard ways of working: playbooks, RACI, definitions, data dictionary, and process checklists; propose pragmatic improvements to recurring issues (late inputs, inconsistent assumptions, template gaps).

4) Systems (data discipline, dashboards, tooling enablement)

  • Support improvements to data quality and planning master data (hierarchies, lifecycle flags, lead times, MOQs, calendars, planning parameters) in partnership with Planning/Operations/IT.
  • Perform basic data checks and reconciliations (e.g., alignment between demand, supply, and KPI files) and surface anomalies early.
  • Contribute to disciplined file structures, access management, and naming conventions to reduce errors and rework.
  • Support reporting/tooling enhancements: document requirements, prepare test cases, support UAT, gather user feedback, and help bridge business needs with BI/system partners (dashboards, automation, data pipelines).

What we are looking for:

Required experience & capabilities
  • 2+ years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, or S&OP / IBP coordination roles.
  • Experience on both the demand and supply side of planning, whether through dedicated roles or through managing the intersection of both.
  • Orchestrated or co-orchestrated a recurring planning cycle (e.g., monthly S&OP / IBP): collecting inputs from multiple stakeholders, consolidating data, preparing meeting materials, and driving follow-up.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple markets, business units, or regions from a central or headquarters role.
  • Strong data handling skills: comfortable working with large, imperfect datasets in Excel (pivot tables, structured data handling; PowerQuery a plus).
  • Structured communicator who can present complex planning information clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing decision-ready materials: slides, dashboards, concise summaries.
  • Comfortable building and improving processes in environments where not everything is fully defined yet.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in durable consumer goods, consumer electronics, or toy industry supply chains.
  • Experience with supply chains involving Asia-based manufacturing or sourcing.
  • Familiarity with planning tools or BI platforms (e.g., Anaplan, Power BI, Tableau, SAP).
  • Continuous improvement mindset: can spot patterns, simplify, and standardise without over-engineering.
Education & languages
  • Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, Analytics, or similar).
  • Fluent English required; German a plus.
