Senior Trading Accountant
You hold a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline and have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Previous experience within energy, commodities or trading would be highly valued. Candidates from Big Four or similar audit/advisory environments with strong exposure to trading, financial instruments or complex transactional businesses are also encouraged to apply.
You bring:
- Strong accounting expertise and a good understanding of how transactions flow through a trading organisation.
- Previous exposure to commodity trading and/or derivatives accounting.
- Good knowledge of IFRS and/or relevant statutory accounting requirements.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with the ability to investigate complex issues and understand their root causes.
- A high level of autonomy and the ability to take ownership of topics from identification through to resolution.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to interact with Trading, Finance, control functions, IT and auditors.
- Experience working with ERP and/or ETRM systems.
- Advanced Excel skills and a strong interest in data, digitalisation and process automation.
- Experience with Power Query, Power BI, SQL and/or Python would be a strong asset.
- Strong numerical and quantitative skills.
- A continuous improvement and project management mindset.
- Self-motivated, with a focus on enhancing processes, controls and operational efficiency.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
