Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and overseeing all payroll-related activities, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with internal policies and payroll deadlines. This includes managing the full payroll lifecycle, from onboarding to termination and post-employment processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with Sage 300 People, solid knowledge of payroll best practices, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of payroll administration experience (Essential)
- Proficient in Sage 300 People payroll system (Experience Essential)
- Experience in information and data management (Advantageous)
- Qualification in Finance, HR, Payroll, Administration, or Management (preferred)
Responsibilities
(including but not limited to):
- Process and administer all payroll data on the Sage 300 People system (manual and bulk uploads)
- Execute payroll functions for new hires, terminations, leave, maternity/paternity, and other employee events
- Distribute payslips and handle employee payroll queries via phone and email
- Maintain and manage the payroll mailbox, ensuring timely responses and action
- Collect, calculate, and enter accurate data to maintain payroll records
- Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies
- Provide payroll reports and respond to requests from management or other departments
- Adhere to payroll policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance
- Ensure employee confidentiality and data protection at all times
- Contribute to the team by supporting other payroll-related tasks as needed

- Good analytical and reporting abilities
- Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with a people-first mindset
- Proficient in Excel (intermediate to advanced) and MS Office Suite
- Experience with financial software (Sage 300 People essential)
