The Field Service Representative delivers expert on-site technical support, system maintenance, and customer service for Trane Technologies’ HVAC products and solutions. This role plays a vital part in maximizing customer satisfaction, optimizing equipment performance, and ensuring long-term system reliability. As a Field Service Representative, you will support both customers and internal/external teams with technical guidance, troubleshooting expertise, and clear communication. You will also develop and deliver comprehensive technical training programs designed to enhance technician capability, and elevate the overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support to customers, dealers, and internal/external teams via phone and onsite assistance as required.
- Communicate technical information clearly and provide recommendations to improve system performance and reliability.
- Communicate service bulletins, alerts, and technical updates in a timely manner.
- Conduct product performance investigations and document quality issues.
- Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and reports in accordance with company procedures.
- Partner with sales, engineering, and service teams to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience.
- Support sales teams through key customer relationship management and technical expertise.
- Establish, deliver, and continuously improve comprehensive technical training programs for service and installation technicians.
- Provide training and guidance to internal/external service technicians on equipment operation, maintenance practices, and system optimization.
- Administer corrective action programs, concessions, and warranty claim processes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Respond effectively and professionally to consumer inquiries and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to all Trane Technologies safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and compliance requirements.
- Support energy efficiency and sustainability goals by identifying opportunities for system optimization and performance improvements. Participate in rotating on-call shifts, emergency service calls, and occasional travel as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma; technical degree or certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of field service experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical/electrical systems.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Proficiency with mobile devices and service management software.
- Valid driver’s license.
