Team Overview

The Communications Manager serves as a strategic communications partner. This role develops and executes internal communications, executive messaging, employee engagement campaigns, and leadership communications while partnering closely with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders. The position requires a strong writer who can balance strategic executive communications with hands-on execution, including communication planning, executive social media support, technology-related communications, and associate-facing campaigns. This role will report to the Director of Corporate Affairs and communications. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview and Core Responsibilities

• You’ll be responsible for planning, writing and producing communications that engage TransUnion’s associates, strengthening connection to our brand, celebrating our successes and ensuring awareness of functional priorities and important TransUnion growth and performance news.
• Developing high-impact executive communications, partnering closely with functional leaders to define and elevate their voice across internal and external channels. These deliverables could include talking points, emails, LinkedIn content, video scripts and more.
• You’ll write - a lot. A journalistic mindset - the ability to see news from the audiences’ perspective and ask questions of business partners to drive clarity - is essential. Equipped with that information, you’ll develop communication plans and associated deliverables, including leadership communications, intranet articles, presentations and other materials. Along the way, you’ll track key performance metrics, listen to feedback from our leaders and associates, and adjust our plans as needed.
• You’ll lead conversations with our business partners to understand their business objectives, then develop, articulate and execute the strategies that deliver the mutually determined outcomes. A consulting mindset and leadership presence are critical.

Required Knowledge and Experiences

• 5+ years experience in a corporate or agency setting
• Exceptional writing and editing skills,
• Ability to form and drive consultative working relationships with leaders and other key stakeholders in a matrixed environment
• Expertise in corporate communication programs and channels, with a track record of success developing, executing and measuring strategic communications programs
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Pay Scale Information:

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $100,100.00 - $150,000.00 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion’s annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
