Compensation Overview

The hourly salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual hourly rate for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$26.00 - $28.00

What Is the Opportunity?

The Finance & Accounting Leadership Development Program (FALDP) Internship is designed to attract and develop motivated students who are passionate about pursuing a career in Finance and Accounting. This internship provides a valuable foundation for future success by offering hands-on experience, professional development, and exposure to a diverse range of finance disciplines within the organization.

As a FALDP intern, you'll be exposed to the dynamic world of property and casualty insurance while building technical skills, professional competencies, and business insight. You'll also participate in development programming, networking events, and community outreach initiatives that connect you with peers and leaders across the organization. Additionally, direct exposure to senior management and mentorship opportunities, learning curriculum designed to develop finance and accounting capabilities, and participation in company-wide and community engagement events ensure that our interns feel supported, challenged and empowered during their summer internship experience.

Housing: The internship program is based in Hartford, CT and St. Paul, MN. Subsidized apartments are available for students who live beyond a commutable distance from Hartford, CT or St. Paul, MN. Positions are available early June through the end of the summer.

What Will You Do?

  • Internship assignments will provide real-world exposure in one or more of the following areas: Accounting and Controllership, Auditing and Internal Controls, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Reporting and Modeling, Corporate Audit, Corporate Tax.
  • FALDP Interns will complete projects that build technical skills, business insight, and professional competencies critical to success in Finance and Accounting roles including learning to leverage modern analytical and artificial intelligence (AI) tools/platforms with the ability to apply critical thinking to evaluate limitations related to quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.4 or greater preferred.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance or a related business field.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

What is a Must Have?

  • Pursuing or obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
