About the role

You own AI, agents and data intelligence across the company: one trusted view of the business, an agent anyone can ask, and a growing set of agents that run repeatable work. You build the first systems yourself and lead a small data team as part of a new team. Agents propose and a person approves, so nothing posts to NetSuite or releases a payment without validation and review. In your first 90 days, you stand up the insights system, put it into daily use and ship the first three agents the business has prioritized.

You partner with the Director, Commerce & Enterprise Technology, who owns the storefronts, NetSuite and integrations your agents run on, and you work closely with the Co-CEOs, the executive team, and Finance, Operations, Marketing and Client Experience.

What you will own

• Custom agents on the company's own data, built with LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini), MCP integrations and AI-native tools, with each task routed to the best-fit model for quality and cost.
• Finance agents for Shopify payout, Amazon settlement, gift card and 3PL reconciliations, commission and bonus calculations, and NetSuite journal entries, with more than 50% of month-end close running automatically.
• Operations agents for item creation from vendor data to NetSuite and Shopify, PO tracking with proposed ETA changes, a daily 3PL-to-NetSuite inventory check and wholesale order exception routing.
• A daily morning sweep that routes overnight findings to the right person, plus rules for human approval, access controls, audit trail and privacy, and monthly agent cost and accuracy reports.
• One trusted view across all sales channels with shared metrics: new vs. repeat customers, CAC, LTV, ROAS, landed cost, margin by SKU and channel, and sell-through vs. sell-in.
• Marketing, editorial, podcast and PR tied to revenue, and answers in seconds for anyone in Slack, drawn from a context layer across Slack, Notion and Google Docs.
• A single customer view across our websites, stores and VIP associates for repurchase and LTV analysis, store reports on traffic, conversion, sales per associate and basket size, and wholesale sell-through data.
• Guidance and growth of the data team, shared ownership of data stack and quality with the Director, Commerce & Enterprise Technology, and keep, replace or build recommendations on tools and contracts.

Who you are

• You have shipped AI agents or data products that a whole company uses every day, and you have led people or programs in data science, analytics engineering, machine learning or software engineering.
• You build hands-on: strong SQL and Python, LLMs and agents including MCP, retrieval and evaluation, cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery or Snowflake, APIs, data pipelines, Shopify, NetSuite and Amazon data, and A/B test design and analysis.
• You are business-first, consumer-focused and cost-conscious: you start from the decision a merchant, marketer or finance lead needs to make, know the cost per task of each model you run, ship early, improve weekly and fix data problems at the source.
• You communicate in a warm, direct way: you explain models, data and risk in plain language to non-technical leaders, set priorities across many requests, say no with a reason, and handle customer, financial and company data with discretion.
• Advanced written and spoken English.
• Advanced use of AI: it is already part of how you work every day.

Nice to have

• Experience at a physical consumer goods brand with DTC, retail and wholesale channels, which is strongly preferred, and in beauty, fashion or wellness.
• A background in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, statistics, math, economics or data science.
