Senior Manager, Business Development

Job Brief : As Senior Manager, Business Development, you will own the day-to-day leadership of the Key Accounts function, managing multiple Managers and their teams, and act as the senior escalation point for top-tier clients. You will translate the Director's account strategy into execution plans and be accountable for team performance and client retention outcomes.   

Key Responsibilities :  

• Lead and manage multiple Managers, Key Accounts, ensuring consistent execution of account management strategy across their teams.
• Act as the senior escalation point for key client issues that Managers cannot resolve.
• Own retention and upsell/cross-sell targets across the portfolio and report performance against them to the Director.
• Translate the Director's strategic priorities into team-level plans, KPIs, and workflows.
• Build and maintain relationships with the top-tier clients personally, alongside the team's own client coverage.
• Represent Key Accounts in cross-functional discussions (Sales, Marketing, Tech, Operations) where a Manager-level decision isn't sufficient.
• Review and approve business proposals, quotations, and contracts prepared by Managers before they go to the Director.
• Identify recurring operational issues across accounts and drive process fixes.
• Support the Director in headcount planning, hiring, and performance reviews for the Key Accounts team.
• Prepare consolidated reporting and market/competitor analysis for the Director.

Requirements

 Qualifications : 

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in key account management or business operations, with at least 3 years managing managers (not just individual contributors).
• Track record of hitting revenue retention/growth targets through a team, not just individually.
• Strong stakeholder management — able to operate with clients, Managers, and the Director without needing hand-holding.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Google office suites.
• Fluent in English and Malay, with excellent written and verbal communication.
