About the Role
Join a mechanical engineering team building industrial metal sorting equipment for the recycling sector. You will own physical systems from initial design through installation and commissioning, helping turn complex engineering designs into reliable equipment operating in demanding scrapyard environments.
What You'll Do
Design singulation, conveyance, and material handling systems that position and move scrap at precise speeds.
Develop machine frames, enclosures, guarding, and sensor mounts that maintain alignment under vibration and harsh operating conditions.
Create fabrication packages, manage tolerance stack-ups and GD&T, and coordinate with vendors and machine shops.
Lead equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and hands-on field improvements.
Model throughput and uptime, plan factory layouts and line balancing, and ensure equipment is accessible for maintenance.
What We're Looking For
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from a strong engineering program, with 3 to 7 years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience.
Experience in high-performance hardware, automation, robotics, aerospace, semiconductor, or similarly complex engineering environments.
Ownership of mechanical or electromechanical systems from design through build, testing, and commissioning, including on-site installation and travel for equipment commissioning.
Proficiency with CAD, SolidWorks, GD&T, and released drawing packages.
Experience with material handling or complex mechanical systems, plus hands-on hardware iteration in a factory, lab, or field environment.
Familiarity with structural, vibration, and tolerance stack-up analysis, vendor sourcing, machine shop coordination, servo and pneumatic actuation, PLCs, and FMEA.
Compensation & Benefits
