About the Role
Join a small avionics team at an early-stage defense technology company, designing power systems and electronics for flight vehicles. You will own hardware subsystems from initial circuit design through validation and production integration.
What You'll Do
Design power electronics PCBAs, including motor controllers, DC-DC converters, inverters, power switches, and power distribution systems.
Own hardware development from schematic design through bring-up, debugging, validation, and production integration.
Define subsystem requirements and develop power system designs in the context of the overall vehicle.
Design and support high-voltage and high-current systems for actuators, power filtering, and mission-critical avionics power buses.
Support power electronics for ground systems as needed.
What We're Looking For
3 to 15 years of experience designing power electronics, including motor controllers, DC-DC converters, or power distribution PCBAs.
A BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Hands-on experience designing and debugging hardware through bring-up and validation, with ownership extending through production.
PCB design experience with Altium or an equivalent tool, plus experience with SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink.
Experience with high-voltage systems, EMI/EMC, and flight hardware or other high-reliability systems in aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, or a similar field.
U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and eligibility for a security clearance.
