Trueline is a US recruiting and executive search firm that fills permanent roles for client companies in construction, accounting, legal, engineering, skilled trades and other professional fields. Its job board lists searches across dozens of US metro areas, from Boston, Birmingham and Sacramento to Shreveport and Erie, often for mid-sized, privately held or employee-owned firms. Typical assignments include construction project managers and site superintendents, attorneys and paralegals, CPAs and tax managers, structural engineers, HVAC technicians, HR managers and sales representatives.

Trueline is seeking a Senior Concrete Project Manager to join their team in Knoxville, TN. You’ll lead large, complex concrete projects within about two hours of Knoxville, including a major $100 million project starting up in 2027, and you’ll be home every night.

The role pays $120,000-$150,000, plus annual ESOP and 401(k) contributions targeted at 15% of base salary. This self-perform contractor builds for its own family of companies and for other general contractors across the region. It’s a chance to lead a marquee project and help build the team behind it.

What You’ll Do as the Senior Concrete Project Manager:

  • Lead multiple large, complex self-perform concrete projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and general contractors, overseeing financial management, change management, scheduling, conflict resolution, and contractor relations
  • Manage project budgets, cost projections, and labor and material performance on self-perform concrete scopes
  • Oversee the change and cost management process from start to finish
  • Help develop procurement documents and establish agreements and work scopes with vendors, suppliers, and lower-tier subcontractors
  • Coordinate with design teams on design packages, estimating, bidding, and construction schedules
  • Allocate project resources, including field crews, equipment, and materials, and adjust them as project needs change
  • Determine builder’s risk and insurance approaches and make sure required coverage is in place
  • Model safety leadership, address unsafe conditions promptly, and partner with superintendents on corrective actions
  • Work with inspection and permitting authorities to understand requirements and plan to meet them
  • Lead and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers
  • Set clear expectations with project team members, trade partners, and stakeholders, and manage deliverables to completion

Must-Haves as the Senior Concrete Project Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, plus 10+ years of construction experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience also qualifies.
  • Project management experience with a self-perform concrete subcontractor, or with a civil or heavy civil subcontractor doing comparable self-perform work
  • A track record of managing large, complex projects end to end, including financials, change management, and scheduling
  • Strong client-facing skills with general contractors and owners
  • A firm grasp of self-perform labor, material, and equipment cost management
  • Safety leadership on active jobsites
  • Ability to work from the Knoxville office and travel to projects within about two hours. Relocation assistance is available.

Nice-to-Haves as the Senior Concrete Project Manager:

  • Experience with a large national self-perform concrete contractor
  • Structural concrete experience, including foundations, elevated decks, post-tensioned, cast-in-place, or tilt-up work
  • Preconstruction and estimating involvement on concrete packages
  • Heavy civil, DOT, or bridge experience
  • Experience managing APMs and Project Engineers
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction certification

This Role Offers:

  • Base salary of $120,000-$150,000, depending on experience
  • Employee ownership: annual ESOP and 401(k) contributions targeted at 15% of base salary, with no employee contribution required, met in nearly every year since the ESOP launched, and a five-year vesting schedule
  • Vehicle allowance and phone allowance
  • Medical (PPO and high-deductible options with an employer HSA contribution), dental, and vision, with the company covering the majority of medical premiums
  • Life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and supplemental coverage
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • A wellness program with medical premium discounts and fitness reimbursement
  • Relocation assistance available for candidates outside the region
  • Regional projects within about two hours of Knoxville, so you’re home every night
  • The chance to lead a major $100 million project starting in 2027
  • An employee-owned culture where everyone shares in the company’s success
