Forward Deployed Engineer

Join Trunk Tools as a Forward Deployed Engineer, where you'll work directly with general contractor customers to implement and optimize our Cortex platform on real construction projects. This early-career role offers the opportunity to write code, engage with builders on job sites, and see the impact of your work in a matter of weeks. You'll also have the chance to contribute to product development by providing feedback from the field.

Missions

• Deploy Cortex and the agents into live projects, connect a customer's document set, integrate with existing systems, and configure the agents.
• Create new custom agents for use on live projects, leveraging the Trunk Tools platform to address specific customer use cases.
• Own the data-to-outcome loop for your accounts, ensuring measurable results on the customer's own drawings, specs, and submittals.

Profil recherché

- A bias to action. You ship, you watch what breaks, you fix it, and you pick up a new domain quickly

- Low ego and a builder's respect for the people doing the work

- Working proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, and comfort with APIs, data, and building integrations between systems

- Willingness to travel to jobsites and customer offices, and real comfort working in the field, hard hat included

- Clear, direct communication and genuine comfort in front of customers. We hire engineer-diplomats: people who can write code in the morning and earn a superintendent's trust in the afternoon

- Familiarity with data, machine learning, or retrieval systems

- Exposure to construction, architecture, or engineering, or genuine curiosity about how buildings get built

- Hands-on experience with Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud

- Prior customer-facing, deployment, or forward-deployed work
