As one of the early members, you will help build and scale a high-impact organization while contributing to the products and platforms that advance healthcare through data and AI. This is an unusual chance to influence both the technical direction and the culture of a growing global engineering hub. 

The Data Platform group in India owns parts of the pipeline that ingests, processes, stores, and serves healthcare data at a scale very few organizations operate at. Patients, doctors, and medical researchers deserve the same engineering rigor that has transformed other industries, and that is the work: correctness under volume, reliability under failure, and speed without cutting the corners that regulated health data does not allow anyone to cut.

What you will do  

• Define architecture across ingestion, processing, storage, serving, governance, and observability for the India-owned parts of the platform, aligned with Seattle. 
• Set multi-platform technical strategy along with the sequencing that makes it achievable rather than aspirational. 
• Remain hands-on where it counts: critical designs, prototypes, deep reviews, and the worst production problems. 
• Resolve technical disagreements that span teams andwrite down the decision and it'sreasoning so that it holds afterwards. 
• Establish architecture governance that engineers experience as a usefulframework. 
• Raise the technical bar of the IDC through hiring, interview calibration, and mentoringof Senior and SDE3 engineers. 
• Represent Truveta's engineering thinking to partners, candidates, and the wider technical community. 

Key qualifications  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 
• 10 to 16 or more years of professional software engineering experience, with eight considered exceptional candidates. 
• Architecture ownership across multiple teams or platforms, with results that are demonstrably durable. 
• Deep expertisein large-scale distributed data systems across the full lifecycle, from ingestion through serving. 
• Continuing hands-on practice: you still write code and review designs in detail. This is an IC role, not a management role. 
• Evidence of technical strategy that was adopted and executed, not only proposed. 
• Sound judgment about build versus buy, migration risk, and technical debt at organization scale. 
• Ability to influence senior engineering and product leadership across geographies and time zones. 

Preferred qualifications  

• Healthcare data, clinical informatics, or a comparably regulated domain. 
• Experience as the most senior individual contributor at a site or within a platform organization. 
• Track recordof hiring and calibrating senior engineering talent. 
• Prior work on privacy, security, or compliance architecture at scale.
