Tech Lead / Data Architect

You’ll work at a global consulting firm, leading the technical direction of its enterprise data platform on Databricks alongside product, business, legal, and engineering teams.

About the role

You’ll own the architecture of a platform that holds firm knowledge and engagement data, governs how it is anonymized and shared, and serves it to consultants, internal platforms, and AI agents through MCP, APIs, and UI components. You’ll lead the data engineering team, set engineering standards, and turn business priorities into a credible technical plan, while staying hands-on writing, reviewing, and shipping code.

The focus is on data architecture, governance and privacy, AI-ready data serving, and building a strong engineering team.

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years in data or software engineering, including 3+ years leading technical teams or designing data platforms
• Deep, hands-on Databricks experience (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, jobs, Databricks Apps, Asset Bundles)
• Experience architecting on a major cloud (Azure preferred)
• Strong Software Engineering practices: git flow, CI/CD, pull request reviews, IaC, DevOps mindset
• Experience designing governed data access for AI / LLM use cases (MCP, RAG, vector search)
• Working knowledge of data privacy and governance (PII handling, anonymization, access control)
• Ability to write design documents, weigh trade-offs, and align architectural decisions across teams
• Daily use of AI tools to accelerate engineering work
• Advanced English, written and verbal

Nice to have

• Background in consulting, professional services, or research-driven environments
• Cost modeling, capacity planning, or business case development for technology investments
• Experience building Databricks apps or internal tools for non-technical users
• Computer science, software engineering, or related degree
